It's usually recommeded to do a wipe AFTER installing the leak.
Thank you. I'll do that then

Hey are we able to restore from backup using bb link. I just installed 4357 & could not restore. Every time I restored the bb would reboot itself.

Kindly reply please. am downloading the leak now...
I'm at 96% restored now, so I should be able to answer your question in a couple of minutes. So far looking good.

When you wipe your device of everything, in Security. You have to type "blackberry" before you begin, to acknowledge what you're doing to the device. It wipes off everything, and returns your phone to being brand new (but keeps the operating system you're on if you've loaded a leak, it doesn't downgrade you back to the operating system that your phone came with)
Ok why the hell would anyone do that? I want to keep my data, not wipe it!

Don't think the security wipe is a necessity. You can do it if it makes you feel better
It's debatable. On some builds it's been known to fix bugs, so it does seem to make some difference, but it could be negligible on other builds.

I step out to go to the dentist and come home to a leak. I knew something good would come out of this unexpected day off. Firing up the computer to download now. Will post a mirror link as soon as I can.

On my sweet Z10 with CB10!

haha well.. if you ever sold your phone, it's a quick way to make sure the person doesn't have all your data when they get your phone.

It's just a nice way to start fresh if you feel like it.

Lol, I only perform a security wipe because it gives me a piece of mind. Whether or not it actually makes a difference is open to debate.

Well I would like to have it optimized. How does one go about a security wipe? & how do you restore the data after you've removed it?

Will any of the data be permanently lost??

There's only 1 reasonable difference that I can see between 4537 and 4543

Webkit version from 10.1.0.4368 to 10.1.0.4416
(Out of the 11536 files that make the base OS, only 23 are changed, and some of those are webkit related)
And it looks like AT&T users might get a different algorithm for showing signal strength. Doesn't actually change the strength, it's just a slightly different way of calculating how many bars (new config option signal_bar_display_algo:n:1 that didn't exist before)

Other than that, all app versions are the same.

I just finished a full restore with BBLink, and everything's working fine. Need to re-enter my passwords for some accounts, but it's got everything else.

If there was a problem with the last leak, it doesn't seem to be there in this one.

Initiated a security wipe from Blackberry Protect just to try it out. It's still running after 10 minutes. How long does it normally take?

You can do a backup of your device through blackberry link, also when you load a leaked os your device will get wiped anyways so always make a backup of your device before you try.

Use BlackBerry Link. You can perform a full or partial back up of your device. It's the easiest way.

    Read the stickies.
