Can someone try this leak and BlackBerry Link is able to restore backup/full backup from previous or older backup?

BlackBerry was not be able to do so on 10.1.0.5437

Many of us have already replied saying there was success... And yes for many BlackBerry Link was able to with 4537

Damn, I forgot to perform a security wipe!
Can someone explain to me why a security wipe is necessary? I thought installing these leaks the way we do already wipes the device clear. I haven't done this on any of the four leak upgrades I have done so far and nothing seems to go wrong. Am I just lucky or what?

i'm most curious about if i get my playlists back. 2.0.93 screwed up my lists (they are on the sd card) where the songs where listed but all showed as local file not found.
it's a 32 gb card so i expect it will be a few minutes before it indexes

Thanks to all those participating in this thread, and to the OP for the LEAK!

I'm just about to install the leak, but I'm having a brain fart moment.... After the install, security wipe & device reboot, do you complete your restore 1st, or re-install your apps & then complete the restore?

A autoloader doesn't 100% wipe a device, if you have a password enabled device you'll see that upon reboot that you still have your device password enabled.

It can also leave behind fragmented files, a security wipe will clear those

I don't understand the steps to perform the security wipe either. The Autoloader seems to do a pretty good job of wiping everything out as it installs the new OS. I have not done a security wipe in any of my installed leaks, and I have not had problems. Would love to hear some informed comments on this... Kris or others?

Have you read anything in this thread?? We can't decide for you...
Dude, I've read every single post in this thread. I'm not asking people to decide for me, I'm just asking for opinions. My current OS is stable and works really well. I haven't tried any of the leaks yet so I don't know how the Q10 leaks perform in general compared to an older but stable OS. I'm sure someone has an opinion on whether or not there's anything that should hold me back from trying a leak.

The Autoloaders don't clear/reset all of the data... the security wipe does! You can really see this if you have a device password, after installing the new OS, the device still has the previous password... after doing the security wipe, there is no password until you set it again.

Just to make sure no fragmenting or other weird things occur, and believe me they do, it was particularly bad with the PlayBook and a few of the legacy devices. It is the "proper" way to do things. Nothing will break if you don't do this step, but you invite possible issues by not doing so...

OK, thanks for the feedback. I'm sure it can't hurt, and I'll probably do so the next leak. Would be nice to know technically what's going on with or without a security wipe... it's just that whole "blackbox" concept that makes me do an OCD itch dance :-)

Not on the Q10. This was something I noticed when comparing the phones. The quick dial contacts showed up for me in that 42xx leak.
Ok. Had it from day 1 on my z10. Luv that lil feature. I only really call 3 ppl. Lol!

Sorry, should have included you on this response. See explanation of what it's supposed to do above...

My guess is that you might have to set your auto-reply preferences (aka which texts you want it to be able to send if/when you reject a call) before it will work properly...

Or it just doesn't work properly!
Where are these preferences, I cannot seem to locate them.

I'm an advocate of "if it ain't broke..." but there are alot of updated and or new features in these newer leaks. I suggest giving either one a spin for day or so, and if you don't like, you can restore your previous OS.
