    Hello everyone.
I have been experiencing a very weird thing with my wifi Internet speed.
I own a Z10, a Q5 and a Playbook (wifi) and all of them they have a weird behaviour on wifi.
When connected (tested on two different wifi routers-different houses /internet connections),
they connect on 64mbps but the internet speed test performed via speedtest.net shows maximum speed of 5mbps on all devices.
When performing the same tests with PCs connected via ethernet cable the speed rises up to the expected 10 mpbs and 12mbps respectively (like I said two different wifi configurations).
Both wifi connections are on b/g/n and I tried all the possible tweaks/ combinations of wifi AP settings and the tests remained all constant.

While on 4G, both the Q and the Z "fly".

Has anyone tried to perform the same test with wifi and speedtest.net?
    Any ideas?

    Thank you

My Z10 on. 2947 got a score of. 57 Mbps on a a connection that regularly torrents or downloads at around 90 KBps. On another connection it got a score of 2.79 Mbps and I regularly torrent or download at about 1.4 MBps. The speed test numbers are off a bit.

It depends on your carrier speed. My carrier speed is faster than my broadband speed

Thank you. The app gave me 11.38Mbps which is more than ok.
I conclude that the problem must lie within the 10.3. browser that I am using.
I will revert to the original browser of my 10.2.1.2947 OS leak and check again.

I will keep you posted on the results.

The first speed test I did was also on the 10.3 browser.

What remains is the Playbook browser...
Unless all BB browsers have the same problem.

I think the 64MB is the speed that can be achieved between your wifi router and your phone, while the 5 - 11.XMB is the real internet speed from your provider. In 4G it is also the speed provided by your provider without interface (your wifi router).

Mine when I using my home wifi the speed between my phone and my modem available for 54MB (linksys) and the provider capped it to 5MB for internet speed while for my modem wifi the speed between my phone to the modem is 72MB and internet speed varied by places from 2MB - 18MB max so far.

Thank you. Everything understood but the problem is that my actual Inet speed is approx. 12Mbps and the wifi measurement via 10.3 browser chops it.
The actual measurement via the BB World app came out fine.
So we concluded that the problem is in the browser.

If you are kind enough to help please use your browser to test your speed via speedtest.net.
And please provide info regarding your OS and browser version.
    Thank you.

Tested just now, mine showing the speed capped by my wifi provider (5MB), am using 2758 base OS in my Q10 with 10.3 browser

EDITED: sorry didn't read your question well, with speed tester it shows 500Mb/s

My wifi, (I'm on Verizon) STL100-4 On Time Warner 10MB/sec account. Using a Linksys EA4500 refurbished router purchased direct from Linksys. These results are wifi, not on 4G.

Is this a measurement via the browser though or an app?

The speed tests are relative to the time of day and traffic. You can un it once and get a horrible result and run it an hour later and get a wonderful result.

I do notice that all my mobile devices do less than my laptops.
