1, copy words easily! Tap "left shift ", then you can move your finger and select some sentences. Tap "left shift " again, you can choose some action. Do you know my meaning?

Interesting way to select text on 10.3-img_20140827_010856.png

I was going to post this.

In 10.3.0.1052 as you use your device, for some actions you are attempting the first time, it will give you hints. A small window will popup and will tell you tips and tricks.

    One of them was this.

Tap on a text, the text edit circle will popup, then you hold down shift, and drag the circle around to where you want to select the text.

I ended up trying this on 10.2.1 and it's works as well.

This has been available since 10.2.1 (or maybe even as early as 10.2.0). It's called "running shift".

This is great! I was always wondering what was the best method to make the editing toolbar appear. Now I know

You shouldn't even need to press Shift again. You hold Shift and slide your finger. When you lift your finger, the editing toolbar should appear.

That's how it works on 10.2.1 anyway. Maybe on 10.3 you don't need to hold down Shift...?

You still have to hold it

    Nice trick.

I also use this method - hold your finger down in one place on the screen. After about a half second, it will select the word. After another quarter second or so, it will select the sentence, then the paragraph. Keep your fingers in place and the selection will continue to grow until you let go.

It's worked this way since somewhere in 10.2.1, but it's super handy

Glad to see this also works with a virtual shift key, because that means selecting text on the Passport should still work out okay (assuming the shift key even shows up outside of text entry fields...).

You know that you can hold the word and it'll select it, keep holding and it'll select a sentence, keep holding and you start to select sentence after sentence. You can also select part of a word by moving the little blue things (the ones that show you how far you selected)

Yes I know, but on my Q10 shift+drag is often much faster. I just wasn't aware the virtual keyboard could also be used this way.

This is what I've done since day one on OS10.
    Press and hold.
It highlights the word, then sentence then paragraph after paragraph. Fast and accurate.
Should work in texts as well.

I want to say this is similar to the old days of bbos and holding the alt key to select text. But I could be wrong.
