Yesterday I wanted to update the OS on a Dev alpha C (Q10) from 10.2.1 to 10.3.1 using a blitz package.
The process was going on. The phone was saying "install in progress, don't turn off", sachesi was installing.
3 hours later I was hearing the sound of usb connection and disconnection, and I went to see what was going on.
The Q10 (devc) was rebooting constantly. Red light - 3 seconds of blackberry bootlogo, then reboot.

    PANIC!!!

I removed the battery and restarted... to find that I was still on 10.2.1
What happened? How this could be possible?
How can I upgrade to 10.3.1?

Try the blitz file again, and make sure your device can't go into standby

I put the device in airplane mode before starting blitz - to avoid that some email burst / phone call will interrupt the process.
The screen of the Q10 was off - should I tell never turn off?

10.3.1 uses more than 1GB ram. Make sure your device isn't one of the few that only has 1 GB Ram installed.

Unzip the Blitz files into a folder, then perform an install using the folder option in Sachesi

I have done the Blitz on 7 different occasions with 4 different devices (2 passports and 2 z10's) and have never put any of them in airplane mode, never removed SD cards or shut any of them off. Try it again without altering anything.

Might it be that OP has enough Apps installed that there is not enough Ram left to do the install by Blitz? An autoloader clears the device before installing unless I misunderstand the process

Honestly I would suggest a autoloader. Especially since you are moving up in families of OS. I have seen many with all different problems doing what you did. You jumped the 10.3 group. Sometimes, especially in the early days, the OSes (10.0 &10.1&10.2) don't play well together. I have always kept with that rule of thumb. You might not have a choice but to use an autoloader now. I hope you get it straighten out.

Try to create your own installation. Download core, debrick and radio for q10, extract signed bar from debrick, then extract apps from signed bar, put extracted apps, radio and core os into same folder and use sachesi for installation. Just to be safe, take out sd and sim from phone.

So I decided to wipe the phone
Is normal that a Q10 shows a rectangular screen like this?

Installed latest blitz - 3 hours later nothing happened-img_20141221_174133.jpg

Why would you walk away during programming anything. Bad idea. No way to know what happened and when.
I ALWAYS stay at my desk while updating or programming. Unfortunately I can't help you become you cannot possibly answer any questions I have as to WHEN the issue started. You weren't watching. Sorry...

Anyways, after the wipe, still can't find any update
    I'm really puzzled

Yes it's normal because your phone is not recognize as a Q10, but as a DAC. For DAC's there are no OTA updates. Either youu use the developper's OS from BlackBerry or you use sachesi or an autoloader.
