THIS VERSION IS DEPRECATED AND SHOULD BE SUPERSEDED BY A NEWER DRIVER BEING PUSHED OUT BY BLACKBERRY AS OF 2014.10.31.

Here is a newer exFAT driver that is working far better than earlier versions. I have confirmed it does not throw "invalid handle" errors when accessing an exFAT SD card via PC.

    Note:

You will have to side load this.

Looks like this will only work on 10.3.1.x. It interferes with device access of card on earlier OSes.

    Enjoy.

Master Wei, did you check if Link can map the exFat SD as a network drive using this?

For information, I just loaded this on my Z10-STL100-4 running 10.3.0.1154 and rebooted, but still get the same error when trying to open my SD card.

Anyone had any luck outside of a 10.3.1.x build?

    Russ.

Sucks to hear that Russ. I was hoping it would work outside 10.3.1.x

I wonder if there are any other dependent bars needed that are on 10.3.1 but not 10.3.0?

The issue I had was with the format on the phone - made the SD card unusable. Once I formatted my SD card, 64Gb SanDisk Extreme Plus, using my laptop, Windows. After that, I have not had any issues using the SD card.

Word of warning, DO NOT LOAD THIS ON A NON-10.3.1.x build!

I just noticed that my media card isn't even seen by BB10 anymore, didn't notice earlier as I tried this at work.

Now I need the original exfat driver BAR for 10.3.0.1154, anyone have it?

Try deleting the current driver and let it download again.

Sorry wu-wei or anyone that's used this on 10.3.1, haven't had the chance yet but if one had issues with indexing on this OS will this bar file help? Or is it purely for link/mass storage mode on the computer?

I have noticed an improvement with indexing, but I think that is more a product of OS efficiency than of this driver. I really don't know for sure though. I was just pleased to see I could access my card as a drive on my PC again instead of constant invalid handle errors.

Sorry that my post borked your card Russ...even for a little while. My goal is to fix problems, not create them. I do appreciate the feedback, since my testing was limited to 10.3.1 builds.

No problem! I didn't lose any data and the fix was easy enough. We all take risks in testing things, hopefully my experience will prevent someone else from having issues.

Btw, where did you get the bar from?

I am tempted to say I have magic powers, that I wrote it myself, or that my "source" hooked me up...

But reality is more boring. It was in the (non-working) STL100-1 10.3.1.632 OS. I just dug around in there and did some testing.

You shouldn't have to, but you can use Sachesi by going to the install tab, finding the bar in the list and right clicking on it. The option is in the menu that pops up.
