?Well, here I go, typing with the prediction turned back on. So far it seems much better than before. What an easy fix... I can't believe something as simple as turning the prediction setting off, then typing a message, then turning the prediction setting back on, could resolve this issue. I also cleared my dictionary of learned words. Even using the backspace button works better. Thanks Crackberrians.

FWIW, this fix, as prescribed by the OP, did not work for me ( STL100-2, 10.3.0.1052, Autoloader), but...

Having played around with the Language and Input -Prediction and Correction settings, I have now resolved the issue.

I cannot be 100% certain of the exact sequence of actions, but I had chronic problems with wrong predictions, and swiping up, especially from the 'A' key - it would generally register as a swipe up to close. Here is what I did to fix it:

Tried the fix as suggested by OP.

Set portrait mode suggestions - off.

Set auto correct with spacebar auto capitalise, period shortcut and learn new words all to off.

    (No improvement, so)

Turned those last four options back on, then set 'Auto correct with spacebar ' only - off.

    Typed a message.

Set 'Auto correct with spacebar' - on, and...

    BINGO!

Back to 10.2.1.x levels of keyboard goodness. Thank f@#$, I was actually considering flashing back to 10.2.1 because of this.

    Well done OP.

Here's my take in attempting to explain my sheetty logistics of all this.

I think after turning off the predictions resets the API of the keyboard. When you compose a message, then pressing every single keys on the keyboard registers all the keys to default mapping. Turning the predictions just enables the feature back up. So I do think following that sequence does help.

So does this mean that the keyboard will go back to being bad again after a while? Wow it got a whole lot faster and the space bar missing thing has at the very least improved a whole lot.

Just did what suggested in OP, trying it now on swiping. It seems to work better but sometimes I had to swipe twice to register. Much better than before though.... thanks OP.

Yea actually mine got fixed for about a few hours. If I just disable predictions it's back to fill speed but I hardly want to do that. Wish I could re-enable and the speed would stick.

Go to your language settings. Turn off the predictions. compose an message and just type without using the prediction. Then open up the language settings again and turn predictions on again.

The keyboard will be back at 100% full speed. It will pick up all the words you decide to flick on.

    Enjoy!

Edit: btw I know I could have simply wrote a shorter version of the steps, but I'm trying to exercise the keyboard to see if the keyboard is back to normal. So this edit is to confirm that the delay is gone because I can keep typing and flicking words up without missing a beat.

Edit 2: shoot, I should probably mention that I did delete my learned words. So I'm not sure if that did anything.

Thanks for the easy fix. This thread reminds me of why I frequent Crackberry so much. One,It's all about BlackBerry. Two, the willingness to help resolve issues. Three, so much knowledge being shared.
Thanks again. Swiping works perfectly again.

Yeah, the fix seems to be an elastoplast rather than a miracle cure. Mine is also back to its old bad behaviour.

Oddly, the space bar fix seems to be held on, but the left side of the keyboard shortcuts seems affected by the swipe-up issue, and general lack of sensitivity, but this is intermittent! At the start of this post, swipe-up suggestions from the 'A' key were not working. Now they are!

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I have an STL100-2, 10.3.0.1052, leak applied via:

    1) Security Wipe
    2) Autoloader
    3) Fiddle with settings
    4) Wipe again
    5) Fiddle with settings again

What we need here is an empirical capture of test data [sigh]...

I am sure that the beta program are aware.

I tried just about everything suggested. Any improvements are temporary, and the left side stickiness is apparent, especially the 'A' key.

The left side and the A key are particularly stubborn.

This worked great! (hopefully it lasts) - swiping has been a nightmare ever since I installed 10.3, but currently the keyboard's working like it did in 10.2 (which is to say, excellently).
