I have posted in a few different threads here and in the Z10 forum but now drastically need help since I have a phone that is completely useless.

I currently have family who is traveling to Ireland - they left yesterday and one of the main reasons that I have been hoping for the ever-invisible 10.1 update from Verizon is Skype. The best and easiest way for us to keep in touch while my family is in Ireland is Skype. No surprises here.

With no official 10.1 update, and everyone mentioning how great and easy the 10.1.0.2354 leak is, I decided to take a stab at it last night. I downloaded the autoloader file and went for it. I woke up this morning to a finished/loaded phone, did the security wipe, then proceeded with the restore from backup and had 1) no keyboard sound in "Normal" mode/profile 2) contacts that were incorrect and 3) an issue where I was sending duplicate text messages to everyone. I decided to wipe the phone again, reinstall the OS, do the security wipe again, etc. Same issues.

I finally decided that I would go back to the stock OS - 10.0.9.422 and ride it out. Go through the forums and find that I need to DL Sachup and Sachibar, find the OEM Verizon OS on Sachup, then install via Sachibar. This all goes fine, I get my two bar files from Sachup, then upen them to load in Sachibar. The load happens, then I have no radio signal, no hub, and most of my icons don't work. Once again, I try wiping the device, but my computer will now not recognize the phone via Link. I tried this several times to no avail.

I have now uninstalled Sachup/Sachibar, reinstalled them both, DLed my Verizon files from Sachup and am trying to reinstall the base OS via Sachibar. I started this process around 5:30 p.m., it's now 8:30 p.m. and the phone has only loaded to 36%.

I am absolutely losing my patience because of all of this and do not have 5+ more hours to let this OS install, only to have to wake up in the morning and do a security wipe, then pray to the powers that be that my phone will be back on 10.0.9.422.

Is there any help that anyone can give me? I BBM'ed with Kris a bit today and he was very helpful, but after the first shot at downgrading the OS, I had no hub, no apps, no radio, etc. and cannot use BBM. Is there no way to COMPLETELY wipe the phone back to factory, and then just restore via Link?

    Please, please help!

    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

my first suggestion is to do nothing with Link at all. i would just install 2354 and then set it up like you just lost the phone. Dont try to restore anything. I just set everything and download the apps again and not even bother with the trash they refer to as link.

Now the problem is im not sure you can just pull the plug on your current process. If you can find away to either stop it or something but i dont think pulling the plug will be good at all.

Need to get someone with a little more knowledge about the loading process you are doing

I am not sure why you went to sleep and woke up to a loaded 2354 in the first place. It should only take a couple minutes (5 maybe) to use the loader and load the OS.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for your reply. It looks like the install process just sped up a bit, as it currently stands at 76%. I suppose I should wait to see what happens since it's now 3/4 of the way finished installing?

Pulling out of Sachibar now will cause a soft brick of the device,

I would suggest trying to find a different autoloader than 2354, heres a link to 1880, try this

    BB10.1.X.1880_STL100-2-3.rar (930.2 MB)

yeah i would wait for sure. I just dont know it you interrupted your current load process what happens. the autoloaded might be able to load the OS as long as the device powers up, then again it might need a sorta functional OS installed. Just dont want to risk it

The 4285 mashup IS 2354 just with updated apps.

Something similar happened to me yesterday re-installing 2354 on my -1 Z10. The load process via sachibar took near 5 hours to complete, but everything loaded ok.

If/when this process finishes, what should I do? Security wipe? Plug into the computer and restore from backup? Is there an easy way to return to factory settings?

I was reading a thread where someone was saying that soft bricking the device might not be a bad idea because then you could plug it into Link and restore it completely. Is this true? If so, is it something I should try?

Thanks very much for the help, gentlemen.

It will soft brick. Basically it won't boot, but you can recover using an autoloader with roughly the following steps

Turn phone off, connect to computer, run autoloader, turn phone on and let autoloader install OS.

It's difficult to truly disable your phone.

Alright, after 5 hours, the phone is finished and in the exact same state - no hub, no radio, only a few apps work. What now?

Went to blackberry.com and the 10.0.9.422 update popped up, so I am running it directly from their website. Fingers crossed.

The phone loaded up but looks to still not have the radio working. Didn't even look for apps or the hub yet. I am restoring from a backup now and hope to have good news shortly...

i would quit with the backups and just see if you can get the OS reinstalled like it should be. the backup could be corrupt for all we know and contribute to the problem

Use an autoloader. I suggest the 2354, but if not that, go for the 1880 /2009/1916 OS
Those have had good feedback so far

I quite simply do not have hub. If I swipe left to where Hub should be, it's completely black. However, the restore failed and I now have radio, but most of my apps are still not working.

Next steps? Security wipe? Batt pull? Try to restore with Link now that the OS should be correct?

First get the 2354 autoloader or install with sachup.
    DON'T restore you're data
Check if everything is ok (network, all Programms)

The mayor problem is the saved data from the 10.0 and 10.1. Software.
Try starting all over and reenter everything without the backup!

If you have contacts you need you can try the following way:
    Go offline
    restore your data
    Delete all mail accounts
    Get a Programm like contactx
Backup your contacts to sd card and reinstall the clean 2354.
Then install all accounts and restore your contacts from the sd card

    Now the system should work.
