I am beyond frustrated right now...I downloaded the sys.howto file above, did the whole Chrome install/delete process, and it worked like a charm. "Finally!" I thought to myself, "I can get rid of these pesky files again even though I'm running 10.2.1.1925!" And I clicked my heels and jumped for joy.

But then I did just like it says to in the OP - I used the latest version of Darcy's tool to extract games, mmagic, airtunes & firstlaunch from my copy of 10.1.0.4687. Once I had 'em I did just like I'd done before with Chrome, and NONE of them changed from "Permanent" to "Uninstall"!!!! So I copied 'em again, without success. Then I rebooted my phone and the PC, and copied 'em a third time - STILL no luck!

I'm at a loss as to why this isn't working for me. I'm not on BES or anything, and I don't have any security features implemented or any other stuff that might interfere.
The sys.howto is not coded as permanent in the manifest for the file linked on this thread for download. The others I believe are listed as permanent in the entry-point of the manifest.

Oddly enough, I was able to delete all these files initially upon loading 1925 before doing any setup or restore. I don't know if it was blind luck or what. I have since gone back to try and delete games and it is a no go for me. This does seem to be the first OS that is strictly enforcing the "permanent" status as directed by the manifest.

Try just clicking the x like you would delete any other app. You may have to reboot to see the x that wouldn't normally be there.

Really? That's not worked for me the last few OSes, not sure why it's worked for some.

That's how I accidentally deleted settings a few leaks ago after installing an updated settings bar, I thought I was just deleting the shortcut, but in fact I couldn't get back into settings, and had to reload the whole os.
