Note: this tutorial assumes that you know that some blackberry apps are "permanent," and cannot be uninstalled directly. If you didn't know that, now you do
Note #2: If you're on an older OS (ie, 10.1), you can probably delete Tutorials using press+hold. This method is for newer OSes that don't let you delete the Tutorials app.

I've noticed that in some recent OS leaks, the sys.howto app (Tutorials) is now a permanent app, and cannot be deleted using the Chrome Extension.
I believe at some point Sacha intended to include the ability to delete permanent apps using Sachesi, but to the best of my knowledge that didn't end up happen.
Therefore, this post gives very simple instructions on how to delete sys.howto from your BlackBerry.

    1. Install the Chrome Extension if you haven't: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...pblnikkp?hl=en
    2. Enable Developer mode on your BlackBerry and log in to the Chrome Extension.
    3. Sideload an older sys.howto that doesn't have the permanent flag in the manifest. There's two ways you can do this:
Option 1: Use Darcy's BlackBerry Tools to extract sys.howto from an old Autoloader (10.1s, maybe early 10.2s). I believe the latest version of Darcy's Tools is 1.5.11. If you don't have this PC program, you can download it from http://www.mediafire.com/download/z4...ol_1.5.1.1.zip (Thanks DarcyTallGuy).
    Option 2: Sideload this sys.howto from OS 10.1.0.4687: sys.howto-10.1.0.8
    (feel free to mirror)
    4. After you've sideloaded the older sys.howto, you can delete it using the Chrome Extension.

Note: This method works for any other system app that you can replace with a version that does not have the permanent flag in the manifest. However, sys.howto is one of the largest (around 20mb), and the one I feel is most worth removing. If you have a nonpermanent .bar for other system apps, feel free to post them below and I'll update this OP.

Hope that helps some people save some space

Be careful with this method, I stumbled across it when side loading bars in previous leaks, I wanted to delete the shortcuts to settings and some of the other redundant ones, normally you can't delete settings, or at least it would just delete the shortcut, but after side loading you can delete the actual settings bar, then you are screwed, if you don't put it back before rebooting because you can't enable development mode. I had to reflash one of the 10.2.0 leaks a few times before I figured out what was going on. Now I just have 2 folders with all of the redundant icons just to be safe.

Good thinking outside the box though, I might do that for tutorials.

It's always present after a new leak is installed but I find it usually goes away after a day or two but thanks for the tip

Help I don't think has ever been released without the permanent flag.
Setup can be deleted in 10.2.1.1925 using the Chrome Extension.

First launch is the initial setup, and setupbuffet is the setup icon (connects to device switch, wifi, blackberry protect, settings, BBM etc.), it's a permanent and an important app, you can't delete it.

I am beyond frustrated right now...I downloaded the sys.howto file above, did the whole Chrome install/delete process, and it worked like a charm. "Finally!" I thought to myself, "I can get rid of these pesky files again even though I'm running 10.2.1.1925!" And I clicked my heels and jumped for joy.

But then I did just like it says to in the OP - I used the latest version of Darcy's tool to extract games, mmagic, airtunes & firstlaunch from my copy of 10.1.0.4687. Once I had 'em I did just like I'd done before with Chrome, and NONE of them changed from "Permanent" to "Uninstall"!!!! So I copied 'em again, without success. Then I rebooted my phone and the PC, and copied 'em a third time - STILL no luck!

I'm at a loss as to why this isn't working for me. I'm not on BES or anything, and I don't have any security features implemented or any other stuff that might interfere.
