method does not work after 1055, but if you are such stubborn, you can try it yourself:

Actually that is not entirely true. I deleted the sys.howto file after loading 10.2.1.3175

The version I used to load and delete sys.howto is 10.1.0.8 Don't remember which OS it is from, but I saved it quite a while ago for this purpose alone. I have not attempted to uninstall sys.mmagic

first, i was not being stubborn. i knew this thread existed a while back and wasnt sure what developments have occurred so i asked. secondly, thank you for the links.
i read some more into this and decided to try for myself. so i went back to old threads with working links and downloaded any autoloader. then i extracted sys.howto and sys.mmagic to try.

for anyone ELSE who wants to get rid of tutorial in newer versions of 10.2.1, here is the sys.howto i used:

sys.data.imf.XX_XX (NOT sys.data.imf.root) i usually remove since well, i dont know those languages.
    sys.retaildemo.bar can be uninstalled.
sys.mmagic.bar is movie maker and is something i'd remove (i have in the past) but i havent found a way to remove that yet.
other people like to remove social apps they dont use and sometimes sys.games

when you use the chrome+bb10 app manager, at the very right of the list of installed apps, it'll say uninstall or permanent. that can KIND of be a guide as to what you can remove.

Nope, they weren't. I used to delete both. I leave the games as some downloaded games are dependent on that app and I play around with mmagic every now and then.

I've been looking for mmagic and games bars from old files an haven't been able to find them when they weren't permanent. Do you have a link by chance or remember an OS when they weren't?

I think 3175 is the crucial number in your reply.
I assume that this OS flaw was patched in earlier versions and somehow reintroduced in 3175. So rejoice :-)

Why would you do that? You'd run the risk of crippling other apps that rely on it.

Use D'Arcy BBTool or Sachesi to extract just the map bar file for your installed OS, and sideload that bar. No need to reinstall the entire OS. In Sachesi, for example, do a version search of your OS, once it's located select Download Links, and a list will pop up with the entire OS available as individual bar files. Locate the map bar url, highlight the url and copy, then paste the link in your browser and download.

If you didn't keep track of what files you removed, you do not need to be removing ANY files from your device. You can't ignore instructions and warnings, because you can't control your anxieties, and expect anyone to save you from yourself.
Having said that, download the OS you have installed on your device. If it's in autoloader format, use Darcy BBTool to extract the complete bar set. If you updated via OTA, use Sachesi to locate the OS you have installed - follow the above instructions - and save the link set to the OS. Next, select the Install tab on Sachesi, make sure your device is plugged in, tab the Refresh button and select the Apps tab. You'll see everything you have installed on your device. Now take your time comparing what's installed, to the list of bar files from the OS links or autoloader unpacking you've done. You should be able to find exactly which files you deleted.
