For those of you who have (or who are) used (using) 10.3, is there any improved ability to receive hub notifications from Android apps? To me, this really important. It's great we can run Android apps on our BlackBerry phones (I've got no less than 5-7 at any time on my Z10). However, without improved hub integration it feels like the ability to run these apps is a bit handicapped.

No, that part still sucks heavily.

Anybody see if Microsoft's OneNote works on 10.3? That's one major app I have yet to see anyone get to work on BlackBerry 10.

If those a free apps from Google Play I can try just to see what happens. I have Instagram but I didn't recall seeing notifications. However I don't use it much.

9GAG doesnt work properly on any runtime including 10.3.0.700 for me. It hangs alot.

My Camera peripherals apps such as sony play memories and panasonic camera app still has the password loop problem.

The initialization of most android apps work better though.

Seems like everyone is having mixed experience with 10.3 but I guess the final build will have something amazing to cheer about in terms of android runtime.

Really? Mine would never connect, though I haven't tested in months since the first 10.3 leaked shortly after 10.2.1 went live.

... and with recent 10.2.1.3247 it's working. Go figure! Guess there were some updates to the android player over since 10.2.1 first launched, or the Teamviewer app updated to be more compatible.

AND MOST IMPORTANT..how is the battery life now on Z10 after10.3 as compared to 10.2?

Haven't found an option to turn off the camera shutter sounds, but dial pad sounds can be turned off.
Battery life: not sure about the Z10, but on my mum's Z30 battery life has been improved. She gets 1-2 hours more battery life compared to 10.2.1

On 10.2.0 and initial release of 10.2.1.1925, I could not get Teamviewer to connect. As mentioned above, it is working on 10.2.1.3247, and I'm not sure when it started working from either an apk or bb10 android player standpoint, but it was either 10.3.0.140 or 296 that had first android player that allowed it to work for me until recently.
I had other android apps that wouldn't connect either that I'll have to retry such as Dormi

update: on 10.2.1.3247 Dormi is still a nogo. Anyone currently on 10.3 want to try dormi and see if it shows connected to network?

It is an improvement from the older ones for the most part. Not sure what causes some specific apps to not work on this one when they worked in older ones. But ones that did not work on older ones work now.

One thing I miss is being able to show off to android fans that BB10 can do widgets too (used Nova Launcher), but I can't seem to on this 700 runtime. At least I can still show them that dynamic backgrounds work... hope somehow they let us use widgets again soon, those dumbfounded looks were very amusing.

Nothing of my own doing. It just worked in most Runtimes that were .296 and older. All you needed was to download Nova Launcher (not sure if others worked too, didn't try) and some android apps that were compatible with Widgets.

They would run in the Launcher environment, but they worked just fine. I hope they didn't axe the process that allowed that and that it will be doable in the full version of 10.3.

Do I understand it correctly that the performance of the Runtime still sucks royally compared to a real Android phone, but that we are slowly getting somewhere?

It seems some people see no difference while others see a huge difference.

I have heard that 10.3.0.700 has the fast runtime, while earlier versions have a runtime that is not much (if at all) better than 10.2.1.

So far, everyone I've read who has .700 has raved about the new runtime.

You can even see some Youtube vids of 10.3.0.700, and in each video, Android apps (like Instagram, and Shazam) really do load as fast as native.

Seeing Shazam load right away on a z10 is crazy to see! It takes FOREVER on 10.2.1.

I posted this in a tangential discussion of another thread:

Re:Android performance : I read some posts on this site regarding the faster 10.3 runtime. Also, there are some Youtube videos. Compatibility also seems to have been improved, with 10.3 able to launch apps that crash on 10.2.1.

*Note*: Only 10.3.0.700 appear to have the faster Android runtime. Earlier 10.3 builds (pre .700) still have slower load times for Android apps.

(thread) AMAZING!!! Android performance on Friday 10.3 SDK!
    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=930971

N4BB also reported on it. (can't find link right now)

Also, there are videos of 10.3.0.700:

This vid is from BerryFlow focusing on the faster runtime:

In this one the (non english-speaking) presenter shows a Z10 with 10.3 actually beating a Z30 in loading Android apps.

Imagine a Z30 with 10.3 Should be even faster. Shazam (in the video) loads at least 4x faster on the Z10 in that video than it does on my Z10 with 10.2.1.

Also, the final build of 10.3 may even load apps faster than in these videos.

The in-app performance performance appears to be faster as well.

Looking forward to 10.3/10.3.1 for sure.
