    is it possible that when John Chen said 'he spoke to blackberry's enterprise customers to listen to what they want and need..' he may have been told repeatedly by then that they feel that their PlayBooks lack support and updated functionality? So as he said he will do what it takes to make them happy and keep them, order the continued development of bb10 for PlayBooks?

    Just a wishful thought...

    Logically, the lower end devices handling the OS gives credence to the possibility. Reality is, unless it was specifically ordered to happen, it won't. I don't think it was.

    Yh I agree. There isn't actually any evidence that bb10 is arriving on the pb. A line or 2 of code is not evidence, and as people have mentioed.before, these may be remnants from.old bb10 os code that was included when bb10 was planned for the pb.

    I more than nyone would love for this to be true, but the people who are sayi.g they r now hunting for play books to.purchase are really jumping the gun. They are setting themselves up for major ( potential) disappointment.

    I wonder if it Chen would confirm if bb10 will come to bb, and just clear this sh** up once and for all

    End the thread now, it's painful. It's not going to happen.

    Well, obviously xsacha knows more about these things than I do, but if this is just legacy code dating back to the leaked android player when OS 1 was still running, how come when I pulled up the cfg file from the android players from OS 2.1.0.1088 and 2.1.0.560, I see this:

    ro.build.description=full_playbook-user 2.3.3 2.1.0.48 player-2.0.0_dev.eng.SER.20120518.011849 test-keys
    ro.build.description=full_playbook-user 2.3.3 2.0.1.30 player-2.0.0_dev.eng.SER.20120328.033140 test-keys

    This is not the same code as Bla1ze originally posted. (full_playbook-user 4.2.2 10.3.0.2 player-2.0.0).

    It is, just truncated. And, of course, the Android version would be different.

    Thorstein said that. He's gone now.
    If the PB does get BB10, evidence of Thorsten's ineptitude at corporate strategy will be incontrovertible: throw your most loyal customers under the bus for... something that actually CAN be done, with a strategically-sound upside to boot.

    What a maroon.

    You must be joking.
    Did you even bother to check who the OP is?
    I really do not know if the update will happen, but I have never seen Bla1ze troll.

    ro.build.description=full_playbook-user 2.3.3 2.0.1.30 player-2.0.0_dev.eng.SER.20120328.033140 test-keys

    This is not the same code as Bla1ze originally posted. (full_playbook-user 4.2.2 10.3.0.2 player-2.0.0).
    This is how it works:
    ro.build.description=$BUILD_USER $ANDROID_VER $APP_VER $APP_NAME ...
    In app 2.0.1.30, you saw:
    Code:
    full_playbook-user 2.3.3 2.0.1.30 player-2.0.0 ...
    because BUILD_USER was full_playbook-user, ANDROID_VER was 2.3.3 and APP_VER was 2.0.1.30

    Now in the latest 10.3 build, with android app 10.3.0.2, you see:
    Code:
    full_playbook-user 4.2.2 10.3.0.2 player-2.0.0 ...
    because BUILD_USER was full_playbook-user, ANDROID_VER was 4.2.2 and APP_VER was 10.3.0.2

    The fact that 'full_playbook-user' has been the build user since the original leaked Android runtime and every moment in between does not mean they have suddenly started developing it for Playbook as the OP implies.

    But, wouldn't it be simpler and easier to just delete that line than to edit it? Or, for that matter, to just leave the line as it was (unedited)? Obviously, that line was in there from the beginning because the android player was originally developed for the Playbook. I'm not saying it does mean anything, only that it might mean something.

    They never edited that line. It's automatically generated using those build variables (such as version).
    It's easier to do nothing
