To do this we would need the stl100-1 files.

The leaked autoloader is for qualcomm devices only.

Well there's a can of worms opened up. There are no other BlackBerry devices that use that particular resolution and I don't see a good reason they would make a new one that didn't fall in line 720p/1080p displays.

Perhaps something is being tested internally. Regardless of what Thor stated, tablets are not dying out. BlackBerry has recently stated that they still feel they have a small stake in that market. If they do nothing hardware OR software wise, they are effectively relinquishing that stake and it will be even more difficult for them to try to get it back later on down the road.

That said the worst thing they could do is admit to working on BB10 PlayBook. If it's gonna happen, they won't admit it until it's good and ready.

I echo the exact same sentiments. The resolution of the device

    What?

    tsk tsk..

Even the remote possibility of PB getting BB10 is enough to convince myself not to buy another tablet, I have been looking for reasons not to buy one.
It's just for my son anyway, I don't use tablets, and only reason I wanted another android tablet was because of the games and apps for him to use.

If 10.3 is based on a QNX with a lower memory footprint, or just optimized for lower power devices, there's nothing stopping it being ported to PB if they put the resources to it.

At the end of the day, software compiled for hardware, simple as that. It's more a support and quality of code issue I would imagine; stopping this from being a reality.

Now that BB10 is now just being refined vs. building from virtually scratch, you have to wonder where all the resources were shifted to. Hope this comes true!

I Know that the chances of this being true are remote but just following this thread as given me a warm feeling, since the last bridge update my PlayBook has been coming to work with me again. My missus has an ipad3 and it still isn't used as much as my PlayBook.

I for one am not surprised. I read so much more than I post, let me see if I remember correctly. I believe I read that they used the Playbook to give birth to BB10 cell phones. Does anyone else remember reading this? Well if that's so, and if hind-sight is 20/20, then with a little love and time why does this seem to surprise so many Blackberry Crackberry's?
Now I'll share with you why I think Blackberry didn't put up a fight when all the competition said Blackberry was and is dead. Blackberry was just giving the competition a healthy head start. LOL! How else can a company continue to die for several years now. The self inflicted wound has healed, and it appears the respirators have been disconnected, the heart is beating on its own, and the patience is eating solid wholesome food again. Just my three cents. Anyway, go Blackberry!

PlayBook is based off QNX as is BB10. So yes PlayBook development did help get BB10 underway. Which is why people expected BB10 for PlayBook yet Thorstein shut the whole thing down. I'd like to know what John Chen thinks of the PlayBook.

    From 10.0.10.261:

    ro.build.description=full_playbook-user 2.3.3 10.0.0.299 player-2.0.0_dev.eng.SER test-keys

It's been there for a while, and I think it's a holdover from building the Android player for PlayBook. Don't get your hopes up.

In fact, OS 10.0 was planned to be available for PlayBook and was tested for a long time, until Heins killed the project. By the way, the version that you posted refers to Android 2.3.3 Runtime, which is the current runtime of the PlayBook and the only runtime that could get at the time (the same as smartphones, it was the same OS 10.0). If in OS 10.3 we can find a reference to a 4.3 player for PlayBook, well that means someone in BlackBerry did change that code line, and I'm pretty sure that they didn't add it for joke. When OS 10 came out and was to be released for PlayBook, the Android 4 runtime did not exist, folk: that's the proof that it's a recent addition.
