A person sideloaded Songza onto his Z10... After the app was closed and active frame was closed it continued playing! Headless in action on 10.2 Dev OS...

    IT WORKS!

An irony of BB10 is that sideloaded Android apps actually CAN run in the background.
That's not new and not related to 10.2.

    Absolutely.
The top bar is exactly how the old Android ports look. Back arrow, down triangle, 3 dots overflow in top right, the font, etc.

Nope a sideload... A android app downloaded and converted to a .bar and installed basically...

That would explain why Any.DO (sideloaded) gets to remind me off all my tasks
Why did Skype have to take so long then lol?

Exactly - an android port. "sideload" is not a term referring to Android apps, it is a term referring to installing an app outside of BlackBerry World (native or Android, that's irrelevant, it's still "sideloaded").

I hope this doesn't turn out to be true.
We need to be able to kill apps that may have gone wayward.

Based on this information I can conclude two things. Bad android ports can kill your battery simply by being installed and two there maybe some way to stop such apps from running wild on your phone.

I started with a side loaded android port of Simpsons tapped out. I realised that it could give me notifications after it was closed.

Of course I fired ES File explorer went to the App Mngr and force stopped the tapped out app and shockingly it worked. I was half expecting a serious crash and error message.

This little experience leads me to believe that installing a dedicated task manager from android would work and allow you to at least control the behavior of those ported apps that run in the background (skype I'm looking at you.lol)
