The 10.2 thread has become so huge and I tried searching to see if anyone found a workaround to getting Skype from BB world to work on the Q10.

The only workaround for now is to have it sideloaded as an android app, but the Android version is so not user friendly and the screen is half cut off. If you sign out you can't sign in again unless you have the android keyboard enabled because once you put the username the password filed is blocked by other options and there is no way signing in.

We've waited years for Skype to come and now it doesn't work with 10.2 which is supposed to be a great upgrade?!?!? WTF

Has anyone managed to get Skype from BB world working on the 10.2 release for Q10-img_20131507.png

I sure hope that was sarcasm because no one forced you to install an unapproved, unofficial, non-supported, leaked OS.

10.2 is not ready yet and neither is Skype for that matter. What can one expect!? Wait for the release of 10.2 and Skype will work for sure.

How do you expect a Dev to produce an app that works with none public released OS?

You don't or shouldn't. There are tons of disclaimers posted with the leaks.

Read the forums and be educated on the item before taking the leap.

Hey there thought id chime in! Im using a Rogers wireless version SQN100-3 (2600 mhz LTE max) and ive also installed the current 10.2 leak plus the 810 runtime. Ive sideloaded quite a few android apps but the only one that does not work is SKYPE. I get an error message that app has unexpectably closed.

I installed the BB10 and Android version together. Used the Android version to sign in. After that the BB10 icon will also work to open the app. Both use the exact same user interface, and there is only one entry for app permissions.
It will even show a Skype icon in the hub for new notifications instead of the standard bell.

The only thing that does not work is auto-run after reboots. I have not tried video calling though.
