Disclaimer: This is no way an insult towards BlackBerry Maps, it's more about the 4.2.2 runtime.

    Update
-7.1 is out, you can get it at this site: http://apps.goodereader.com/apk-2-bar/
-Here is a direct link to the highest version I was able to make work:
    http://69.162.109.42/Apk2Bar/bar/com....701000814.bar
-Do not try to install version v7.1.0.701000822 or v7.1.0.701000823. These are probably for the new Nexus 7 that has the 4.3 runtime and will not work on the BB 10.2 android 4.2.2 runtime.
-New in version 7.1(so far found): http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...ml#post9075777
    Update

    FAQ
-You can not sign in(tap 'Skip'), Maps uses Google Services to sign in which the runtime does not have or enable
-How to save map for offline: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...ml#post8964274
    -How to street view: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...ml#post8969841
    -Traffic, incidents, accidents alerts: http://forums.crackberry.com/android...t-waze-842672/
-If you can not close/stop maps from running in 'Device Monitor' go here: http://forums.crackberry.com/android...closed-843130/
-You can not rotate the map (bug in gestures when translating to BB10 gestures?)
    FAQ

Google Maps 7.0.2 (July 2013) looks beautiful and is buttery smooth on 2.0.1047

You can find it on this site, no need for debug tokens, etc.: http://apps.goodereader.com/apk-2-bar/

You can do a search for "maps" there, it will bring up a couple of 7.0.2 results, here is the one that I am using: http://69.162.109.42/Apk2Bar/bar/com....700022113.bar

    Note:
-you need to know how to sideload
-you won't be able to sign in, Google uses some kind of android account system on its devices instead of just asking for username and password.
-beautiful and buttery smooth != no bugs

Looks like I'll need to tear into the new GMaps app and possibly put in a few of the countermeasures I had to keep the v6 build working smoothly. Any areas of the application that cause a force quit when you access them?

I've actually been running this for a while now, and I've been very happy with the fluidity. I used the debug token method though, and I just assumed everyone was using this version. I haven't run into any force close situations yet either, and when I was using it for navigation I had no issues with losing GPS...I just disagreed with the route it suggested as being the most direct.

Yes, I have, but it was a couple of weeks ago and I was running my 483/341 hybrid (not 1047). I had no issues.

Does anyone have an apk or bar file?
I'm having trouble pulling the apk out of google play (the chrome extension won't work)
I can't find the file one Koz's site, everywhere has 6.xxx whatever.
The bar file above won't convert on the apk2bar site - says the version is too long.

*Edit - use chrome, and it will show up on koz's site.

OP provided a link to the bar (which does not need converting).

Not that it matters since I found it - but the OP link is to a zip file that contains the apk, not the bar file.

I don't like Google maps because they keep having people try and drive up my driveway to get to the other side of town.

Don't care if it is the most direct route, it's MY driveway. Not a public way.

    Rant over.... proceed at will...

Try reporting to google that its a private driveway Google Map Maker and change the road type to private road - you'll have to sign in/sign up to make the change.

Info: 10.2.0.1047 with 10.2.0.810 runtime, and the "special" version of google maps 6, sideloading with Chrome

Go to Google maps in a Web browser and look at the lower right. I think you can report the issue there.
