    How did you determine that?

And how did you come to this? I can't find any evidence, online of from personal usage, to verify this.

If you close a window that has been painted black, will you still get sunlight or will you need to open the window to see the sun?

    Parables rock.
    Is this a trick question.

Wait. Isn't "run when minimized"called active frames? You know one of those things we brag about. That when we minimize an app it still runs real time unlike ios that suspends the app till maximized.

Edit: seems I maybe wrong. Tested with a streaming app and still worked minimized.

A better way would be to run your finger over the top of the Z10 until you locate a little silver button... press that button for 3 seconds and the screen will go blank, display the BlackBerry logo and go black again.

This will power off the phone saving the battery that everyone complains about regardless of OS.

    Posted via CB10
Or you could just put the phone in airplane mode when not in use???

    You don't seem too certain.

Plus, I doubt that the feature that's supposed to save battery (that's why it's called battery saver mode) would be draining it. .....defeats logic.

If you really need it to last, set it to 2G and enable battery saving mode. SMS and calls only, a basic phone.

For those on the latest os 10.3.1 and experiencing battery drain should first disable all the android apps working even when minimized from the application setting and then Proceed to turn OFF THE BATTERY SAVING MODE

    Posted via CB10
I know! I talked about this somewhere in the forums! You go to Android settings and do it there!

    Can someone confirm this?

Disable "run while minimised" will work only for apps that are on Active frames. But the problem with Android apps are that it is not fully disabled/closed even when the app is closed from the active frame, it is still lingering in the background.

The real battery saving mode is Bedside Mode with the option to turn wireless connections off. Hardly any drain overnight with that on, and with the 10.3.1 leak it doesn't have as much trouble switching on swiping down to enable it on a lock screen as 10.3.0 had. You can combo this with the power saving policy to turn data services off to give you a true "phone only" bedside mode.

except it doesn't work like that for android apps at least on 10.3.0. When you minimize apps like Tinder, it kind of screws it up and does a quick restart, even though it keeps using your location while it's minimized which is strange.

exactly, even cascades apps (native BlackBerry Apps) have this problem.

Then when you go to Device Monitor and "Force Close" the apps. Either the "Force Close" thing is not highlighted (can't be pressed) or the "Force Close" is highlighted but doesn't do anything when pressing it. I only can Force Close Headless apps which makes no sense because they just open right back up.

On my Z30 it hasn't seemed to make that much difference so far. I'm wondering if a restart would make the changes a bit more static, aside from the battery drop from doing so. I'm thinking that the restart on the android runtime will make a difference, even after opening some of the apps back up. I know before that I could pull 2 work days out of this battery before, but now I'm lucky to make it 18hrs. New work day, fresh charge, I guess I will find out by the end of the day if I can push it another day.

Yes you do. They might've blocked it, but you can go to escreen and force it there.

There is an app for this...it is called 10.3.1 and it turns off your phone...just takes about 4 hours to do it. I am kidding, I have actually had great luck with battery life on the 10.3.1.632 OS. It is better for me than the 10.3.0.1154 was on my Z30. I guess I am lucky, but with the exception of the contact list glitch that has been well documented, 10.3.1 has been fantastic.

Um... no. 3 doesn't have any 2G services... They built their network on 3G upwards. I can enable 2G service but I can't use any unless it goes to another network for emergencies calls etc
