I just noticed that the phone uses less RAM now.
On .500 i had about 1250MB of free RAM with 2 Android apps running. (Task Manager and AVG)
    Now i have 1450MB.

The phone is pretty hot and I don't know why..

Given the crystal clear explanations or the risks and irreversibility by Darcy and several others, you'd have to be awfully brave to do this update until an autoloader comes out for 680.

That said, I suppose if we get, say, fifty people here who do upgrade from 500 to 680, whether on the beta program or not, and none of them reports a bricked phone after the upgrade, then we could all probably do it without much concern.

I'm getting a replacement PP from Amazon Tuesday (USB-port hardware related issue), so I may upgrade the defective PP once I've got the new one up and running, just to see what happens before I return it to Amazon.

I wonder what the purpose of this blacklist is. Why does BlackBerry not want anyone reverting? I doubt it has much to do with leaks - it's quite clearly not stopping leaks, it's just making them riskier. People will still load them and post their findings on the Internet for everyone to see, so you're gaining very little in that regard.

Nothing to do with that. Has to do with security and BlackBerry Protect.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of that! I just remember reading someone say it had to do with leaks earlier, so I guess I was indirectly responding. Makes perfect sense now though, since prior OS versions didn't contain the kill switch.

Didn't have to re-login to Blackberry Protect after the reboot, like I did on .500 and I can now successfully turn off Traffic Data Collection and it doesn't turn itself back on...

I would imagine it is to stop theft, as with earlier versions the lock to Protect can be bypassed. Not gonna happen if legislation compliance has anything to do with it.

I would run the 10.3.2.500 autoloader first.

And this one doesn't have an autoloader yet!
