For persons having a problem with turning on BlackBerry Protect, the steps below may resolve it:
    1. Shut down your device and remove SIM card
    2. Power on device and enable BlackBerry Protect via WiFi
    3. Shut down your device once again and reinsert SIM card
    4. Power on device again and check to see if BlackBerry Protect is still enabled. Re-enable if not.

    I did it simpler:

    Turn off Protect on device.
    Log in to protect.blackberry.com
    Delete your account
    Turn on Protect on device.

I recently upgraded from 2558 (skipping 2576) to 2582 and so far no major issues to report. Battery life is fairly good on my BlackBerry Classic with approximately 24 to 36 hours of moderate use. Amazingly, battery life on my Z10 lasts a bit longer, approx. 2 days. Another noticeable improvement is quicker Wi-Fi response and connection than in earlier updates on both devices. Overall, this latest OS has been quite stable with satisfactory performance.

Anyone having trouble opening Android apps? They'll work for awhile, but I'll get an "[whatever app] is not responding" message and then none will open after that. Just a black screen.

    Posted via CB10
Yeah. Android apps crash a lot more on this os. I experienced the same.

I am having problems with apps crashing on my z30 the last couple of days. The browser now seems to crash almost every time I use it and I have had problems with gnewsreader crashing (never had those problems before).

Add some new wi-fi problems (refusing to connect to saved networks) and it seems like I will need to reinstall and start from scratch using an autoloader.

Figures that this is the first time I have done an OTA in years and I get problems :-)

No. It is grouped under apps.. don't have many apps so 4 gb there is justified

    Mine is at 3.34GB.

There have been many theories advanced on this subject, but BlackBerry has never (to my knowledge) come out and defined what falls under the "System" umbrella.

Some people believe that not all android app storage is counted under the app itself.

I am pretty sure all accounts that store information in the Hub show up as System as well.

A long time ago I created a thread on this subject and found that OneDrive was stuck trying to sync a 4GB video from my device up to OneDrive. Once I removed it, the system of System dropped down by 4GB (or something like that. So there is another possible reason, pending sync data.
Edit: here is the thread http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=924988

I think the best you can do until BlackBerry gives us a better view into that bucket of Satan, is to try removing all your accounts and apps, reboot your device to get it to properly refresh the storage, and then try adding them all back in one at a time and watch what happens to system. I suggest reboots in between each change because my experience from the OS 10.1 days was that was the only way to force a true update to the reported storage. Maybe things are better in 10.3.1 and this isn't necessary anymore.

I tried searching the forums, but didn't see anything regarding this....is anyone else having an issue with the hard reset function on the passport? I have the at&t passport running .2582. Holding the up and down buttons, it goes through the usual motion of taking a screen shot, then shuts off. The blackberry text appears, then the screen goes dark, and the same text appears again....it goes through this cycle until I release the volume buttons. Once I release it, the screen with the blackberry text moves directly into the home screen....no squircle loading sequence. I only get the squircle if I shut the device off via the power button. Everything runs fine so it isn't a major issue for me. Just curious if I'm the only one.

Went from .2558 to. 2582 with a Blitz.
