this strange error has been popping up anytime the device is connect to my computer with blackberry link. i can't say for sure when it started so i'm not sure if it's related to the leak i have installed. 10.2.1.1925

    the message says

there isn't enough storage space on "device name" for selected files. delete some files from the device and try again

    device: 10GB of 16GB used
media storage: 19.2GB of 29.1GB used

i have plenty of space on the device and on the sd card. so i'm not sure what this message means.

Maybe the computer? I've never seen the message before but maybe it's trying to sync your stuff to the computer without enough space.

there's enough space on my HD for cover the device and the sd card... and the only difference sometimes when syncing is just a few pictures... and i still get that message... and it still syncs... makes me wonder if there is a problem somewhere that i don't know about...

That's funky, I've never heard of it. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling link?

I have the same issue so you are not alone. Here are more details on my issue:

I went ahead and created a thread on BB's BETA support forums:

Keeping my fingers crossed we get some traction on that website.

Is it maybe that the blackberry link tried to sync all media files from the computer to the device?

I guess anything is possible. It should not try to sync anything that isn't defined as a sync though.

Sounds like you guys have some sync enabled with folders on your computer that are larger than the free space left on your phone. Disable sync and see if it stops the messages. Then go from there.

I am getting the same error but only when I click on the Sync Contacts/Calendar. I got 5 GB free on my device. Must be a bug cause contact/calendar info does take much space.

This issue went away for me. Not sure how. Could have been an os update or the desktop software update.

I'm getting the same error message. Also, the size of Pictures and Videos on the BlackBerry Link device home screen sometimes shows them as being twice as large.

I don't have an SD card installed in my 16 GB Z10.

My main question is: how can I find out what the "selected files" are the Link is trying to copy to the Z10? The BlackBerry folders that were created on Windows 7 are only populated with files that were copied over from the Z10. I've never put anything into a Music/Video BlackBerry folder on my laptop.

I can create and upload a Log file (Preferences > Creating Log Files > Create Log) if anyone knows how to read it.

    Thanks,
    Shane.

Hello, I was had the same issue. It's seems.

If I am correct, the BlackBerry Desktop software check if everything from your phone are sync, or have not synchronise if it was a long time ago...
BlackBerry Desktop fill the ram memory, that's why you have this message. A Bug.
    To solve that :
    * You can clean up your ram computer (ex : ccleaner...),
    * Reboot your computer,
    * Open the BlackBerry Desktop software and change the backup setting,
    * If you do that, you can plug your phone at your computer or do your sync by wifi (if you give the right)

I hop that solution will help you.

    Have a good day.

By the way, BlackBerry blend and Desktop software are connected.
If you can connect or do not solve the issu, try to disconnect et reconnect the sync option from bbdesktop (bbm id etc...)

    Try that...

Forget something important to ask Befor :
Do you store your files directly on your sd card or on the memory phone ?
    --

To answer an over question about the kind of backup, go at the BlackBerry Desktop software to do that ; in the setting.

    Best regards.

I'm getting the error message in BlackBerry Link. You're saying you're getting the exact same error message in BlackBerry Desktop?

I think BlackBerry Link can be installed on its own (as a standalone application), without BlackBerry Desktop installed.
