ralfyguy, when you restart your device, what computers are listed in your settings->blackberry link?

So you think the only way to get rid of that is wipe?
Rebuilding the whole phone is very time consuming. I ran a backup two weeks ago. Restoring the phone without wiping perhaps?

Tough call on restore as there is evidence from some that suggest it's ok and others it's not ok. I don't know for sure what state the restore will bring those connections/computers to in Link and File Manager.

One thing to try for me is to reset your device and wait for a bit. Then tell me what computers are listed in your Settings->Blackberry Link on your device and what computers are listed in File Manager.

Currently listed in Settings>BlackBerry Link is:

    Desktop-1BA0
    Desktop-6121
    Desktop-238C
    PC

    File Manager Lists:

    PC
    PC-1

PC-1 is the active one which is related to PC in Settings>BlackBerry Link. Tapping PC in Link opens PC-1 folders. Tapping PC in File Manager results in a popup saying that I don't have permission to access this folder.
Deleting all the entries in Link makes them reappear after a reset.
Deleting the device in Link on the computer and logging out after, results in removal of PC entry in device Link and PC-1 in file manager.
This is all independent if email ID and password was changed or not.

OK thanks for the info. Just confirmed that PC in File Manager is orphaned. I had the same problem and the only way I got rid of it was to wipe and reload. If you decide you are up to doing the wipe, then try the restore of your backup first to see if you get lucky since you won't have much to lose if you are going to do a wipe anyways.

Also, i've never seen an explanation for those Desktop-xxxx entries. I know they are needed as they keep showing up even after they are deleted.

I observed that when a new connection is established that Desktop-xxxx quickly changes to the name you gave your PC in the Link program. Like the new one I made started out as Desktop-7071 and then changed to "PC".
I still don't see why they are still needed, because it is just the standard name it starts out with. It is obvious then that it is abandoned. The option to delete them is utter useless, because it doesn't actually do what it is supposed to do.

So I had to wipe the phone to get rid of it.
But after all this time after changing the password, the three ghost entries are still there.

Are the ghost entries in both settings and file manager? If so, delete the ghost entries in Settings first and let me know if they get removed from File Manager as well.

No, I meant I got rid of the file manager entry that I had with wiping the device.
The ghost entries in the link area are still there even after wipe. I also installed the latest link on my PC taken from the latest Blend setup and they are still present. The only other problem I have now is that wifi connection to RFA and Link on PC git very hit and miss, whereas Mobile Network connection to RFA is now dead on every time. Before it was the opposite.
Before calling RFA while on wifi was dead on every time and mobile very unreliable.
Now 50% of calling RFA on wifi will fail, same with launching Link on the PC, the phone connection fails half the time via wifi.
I reset the router and modem to factory twice to eliminate any residing connections or forwarded ports crap, but that didn't improve it much.
The ghost entries in the Link area on the phone will reappear just like before. It's been two weeks and they will not stay away.

Apologies but I'm not sure where to go from here... Prior to 10.3.x versions, I would experience similar issue with RFA being hit and miss plus the duplicate computer issue. Since being on 10.3.x (now on 10.3.1.1949) and having resolved the duplicate computer issue, RFA has been very stable. Have you considered loading a 10.3.x leak on your device?

As soon as there is a 10.3.1 version with official radio for the Z10 STL-3 that allows for non-destructive upgrade, I will take the plunge. The last wipe I did was exhausting to me, as I have some troubles with my eyes and making me nauseous staring at that small screen for longer periods of time. This is why I try to avoid starting from scratch.

Sorry to hear. I just checked this thread (BlackBerry links and autoloaders SR10.3.1.747 (OS:10.3.1.1154 + Radio:10.3.1.1155)) and it appears that the links are active for the required files to do a non-destructive. I initially fixed my duplicate computer problem on this version.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this is the version that has many troubles. I read the whole thing and there is a newer version out 19.3.1.1949, but it has the older. 1155 radio and is not available as job destructive for the Z10 yet.
I'm expecting this to be released soon for the Z10. It is currently many for Z30 and Classic.

Yes, I updated to 10.3.1.1949 on my z30. I typically do non-destructive but since that was not an option I did the autoloader and full restore. Fortunately I had no issues and everything is working fine after the update. Here's hoping a full version for the z10 leaks soon for you.

Yeah, I hope so as well. I really don't feel like redoing everything from scratch again. So far every time I did a non destructive upgrade I had no problems.

Are they also gone in the Link menu?

And did you put .1949 on with the .1155 radio via autoloader?

Also, does Desktop-9BEB show up in Device Connections? If so, are you able to long press and delete it so it doesn't show up in file manager?

The long press=> delete in link is actually totally useless.

Agree that if the device connections (settings-->blackberry link in 10.2.x) and file manager get out of sync, the long press does nothing. I have been able to long press entries in device connections and have the corresponding computer removed from file manager.

Thanks for the suggestions but this issue is not regarding duplicate files on a computer it is regarding duplicate computers in File Manager on a device used for the purpose of Remote File Access.
