How about the use BlackBerry phones and you want to sell it to somebody? How are they going to use it? Are they able to change the bbid with the new one?
By removing your device on blackberry protect will help?

Well, I verified the Blackberry Protect website after signing with my BBID and it says that there is no phone associated with, I never turned it on in the phone itself in the first place so hopefully whoever buys it will be able to sign in with his/her BBID. I am not complaining about this 10.3.2.500 OS, I take full responsibility for loading it and it truly seems to be working great with the Classic and all but still there are things that I don't like about it and would prefer to switch back, it is a matter of personal choice and simple principle. This whole episode brings me memories of when the Samsung S4 came out, it look so slick so I wen't out and purchased it only to find out that it was kinda of locked and getting it S-OFF's to change the OS was nearly impossible, well there were methods to circumvent but still.....same with the stupid iPhone which now sits in the drawer. Always pay in full for my phones, no '2 year contracts bull' and such so I really have a problem when somebody tells me what I can or cannot run in terms of software and/or mods, every phone that passes thru my neck of the woods will be updated, jailbroken, rooted, s-offed, modified and molested in every possible way for sure and then some.....don't try to take that away too. As of today the Classic is going on Ebay and out comes the trusty old Bold 9900 until the replacement arrives or else.

Hold on to your classic this only prevents you to go backwards but new things are coming, you can change lots of things except use old OS. Is like when people wanted to hold on to old answer screen or the squirkle they where missing the real fun. Besides BBOS is a work horse but BB10 is a racehorse.

After set "Protect OFF" in phone (with BB-ID password) is possible to run standard Security Wipe (without need BB-ID password) ..
With "Protect ON" in phone is possible to run standard Security Wipe (with BB-ID password) ..
.. and after that in "first run" dialog you may set any BB-ID.

So what OS can you downgrade too then?

Also are you then stuck on that OS which ever it is?

I get terrible signal strength indoors with this OS and need to downgrade?

With a Passport, the only option is 10.3.2.281 or a very old and very buggy leak of 10.3.1.632.

I think you should try the 10.3.2.500 autoloader again.

I only installed this leak because I wanted the improved calendar. Now if I have other problems - for example, email and calendar don't sync correctly, so I want to go back to 10.3.1. That is a legitimate situation that I am prevented from completing.

I saw some mention of the warning, but wasn't intending to load the leak. AFTER I loaded the leak, I remember seeing something about it, but it was too late.

Thanks for sharing. Puts me off installing it on my daily driver Z30. Will wait a little longer. Maybe even be patient until it's official. Don't want to risk anything.

    10.2.2.xxx isn't on that list.
Hello to you here CB ! ( i think a newbie like me should give a hello )

I thought 10.2 is the german branch and it was released in germany only, due to some of their security concerns. For me it looks like that 10.3.2 will be the next German branch.
    ( why only downgrade to 10.2.x with blacklisted 10.3.0 also ? )

    to: Darcy
I read the OS blacklist is stored in NVRAM, but also got from the blacklist output the phrase "SFI".
I remember there were some rare "3 file" autoloaders some time ago, discussed in your DBBT thread. These included 1. Debrik 2. Radio 3. SFI.signed to flash...
Could it be possible to flash only this old, extracted SFI into NVRAM and get the old blacklist back ?

10.2.2 was the german branch, but it's usable by anyone.

All our OS files (Debrick, core, etc) are SFI Files. I can't remember what it stands for, but SFI = our OS. So the debrick is the SFI.

MFI = factory OS. There's not much to MFI, they're only 100MB or so compared to the 2GB of what we use. But MFI allows for a few basics like some basic hardware tests, and more importantly behind the scenes the MFI allows the factory (with their programs) to set various values like IMEI, PIN, Serial number, etc.

If I'm not mistaken there's a few other types of OS too, but I can't remember them offhand.

You might be thinking of DMI. DMI is a separate partition, but it has nothing to do with blacklists.

And last but not least, the block list in the phone cannot be rolled back. Once an entry is on it it cannot be removed. Even if you go to an older OS (10.3.2.281 doesn't have the same block list!) the block list will only ADD to what's already on the phone, not overwrite it with what's in the OS.

Hmmm, the blocklist is not stored in MFI if i understood right ( side by side with IMEI etc ).

...thought it was named EFI ( this is what the people at the flashercommunity where able to reprogram with their "funny" tools. ( i hope pointing at this is not seen as a criminal act here,
the MFI/EFI confusion took me there ) And thank you for your patience, i'll look at this in detail later.

So, today I noticed that the real calendar feature that I need doesn't work right on this leak.

When I'm adding a calendar entry, it doesn't show existing appointments so that I can see what time is free. 10.3.1 works correctly. I'm an ID10T for loading this leak.

finally downgraded from 10.3.2.500 to Z10_10.2.02.1609_STL100-2-3
    steps followed:
1-disabled BB protect and removed device from BB protect Manager
    2-nuked with CFP57
    3-flashed using autoloader Z10_10.2.02.1609_STL100-2-3

OK. But now what are you going to do? Stay on 10.2.2 forever? Because it's either that or go back to 10.3.2.

I don't know if this applies to 10.3.2.500, but a couple weeks ago I nondestructively loaded 10.3.2.281 onto my secondary device, a STL100-3 Z10, and wanted to go back to 10.3.1.

A nondestructive load of 10.3.1.2708 didn't work--it just didn't take. I then did a regular security wipe and then autoloaded 10.3.1.2708 (or maybe it was one version earlier--26xx or something), and there was no problem--it worked (and is working) fine.

No you wont get any problem. Its just simple. Security wipe it and all will be new. i did that yesterday. no issues
