To be honest why downgrade.? This OS is the bees knees most of us have been waiting for. Can't see the point jumping backwards and forwards. Stick with what you have and be thankful we are brave enough to try these things. Old saying never go back is true.

Whatsapp works fine it just that the tick marks don't show in the hub... that's the only thing with whatsapp for me but it doesn't bother me!

This build is pretty solid already. Not only the Watermarks are gone (this early!) and the Dev Graph as well. Pretty much Gold-build worthy this early. I know there's a few rough edges somewhere but it isn't game breaking.

At least I know at this point thieves CANNOT roll back to 10.3.1 and before in a desperate attempt to use my phone should it get off my hands.

So in a year or so when we get a new phone, how do we clear the Blackberry Id stored in the memory? Does just turning off Blackberry Protect allow switching to a different Blackberry Id?

    Yes.

You have to do it before you wipe the phone, however, and turning it off requires the current password on the BlackBerry ID account. Once you have done that you won't be prompted during setup for the old password.

What if we use multiple phones at any given time? As long as we are signed in with our BBID, will Protect work on all of them?

This is pretty much exactly like iPhone. You have to turn off "find my iphone" service before doing any kind of reset.

I don't really see the big deal in this - IOS does the same thing and hundreds of millions of people seem to be ok with it.
The big deal is that this is a beta OS, which means there could be a host of bugs that may crop up on some users. It depends on usage patterns. Some people might load up this OS and never have a problem based on how they use their phones. Others might load it up and have nothing but problems based on how they use their phones. For those folks, being able to revert to a stable OS is a must.

I have tested the majority of leaks that have come out since BB10 was released. There indeed was an instance for me where a leak was too buggy to keep running it. I reverted to an older stable OS and all was well again.

    how? pls tell me
The process works but you have to be very careful as you can only downgrade to 10.3.1.396 which is DEV OS that was released by mistake as a full OS. All that was done was disable Protect and run the before mentioned OS autoloader. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOAD ANYTHING HIGHER.

You will end up with the Core, Radio and Apps for that build but the OS version will show as 500 and still have the NVRAM blacklist. Your device will even tell you there's and update available. In my case the z30 was showing 10.3.1.1767. Everything I tried last night ended up failing as you can see in the post that I kept updating. The closet I got to loading a newer OS was by blitzing the device with Sachesi. The Core and radio were loaded and out of the 202 Apps that were being updated, 143 were successful. The issue I had was when the Sys.Fuse.Bar was transferred. The processed threw and error and everything reverted back.

If you decide to do this anyway. DO NOT SIC WIPE. It will be your worst enemy. You won't even be able to load 10.3.1.396 again. The only solution will be reloading 10.3.2.500 again.

Unfortunately until there is a higher build leaked your stuck at the Hotel California.

Blackberry should make sure their future OS updates are free from major bugs.

I was really angry when Apple released iOS 8 that rendered my iPad 2 useless due to bugs and poor performance and I found out that Apple prohibits the signing of older iOS firmwares to prevent downgrade. I am not an Apple fan nor hating it but this case made me to decide not to buy any other Apple product, ever.

Agreed, but will point out that this OS was not released to public. This release is expected to have bugs as a beta OS. We can't really complain unless we are in the official test group.

Don't think it matters, through all my wiping and reloading I could still skip you bbid signon during device setup. At least it doesn't matter yet.

I succesfully blitzed 10.3.2.500 on my z10 stl2. No problem so far. Just asking to myself: are my device backups (10.3.1 and older) made with BB link still usable with this OS blacklist feature or is a new Backup ( with the 10.3.2 OS) essential in order to be able to recover a working device after a failure?

Thank you, I supposed the restore process would restore all data as well as the OS from the backup set.

You tell me only the data are restored, right? So does this means my Z10 running 10.3.2.500 should be able to process without problem backup data from a 10.3.1 or 10.2.x OS or maybe from and older OS. Am I right?
