    Hey team,
Can you finally stream youtube to your tv? Or any video that's playing, can you click play on and send to your tv? It would be nice for movie websites and stuff.

You can with miracast on a Z30, Q10 or Q5. Unfortunately the Z10 does not have the hardware necessary to support it.

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong I'm not happy about it but it is what it is. They had to rush it to market. The OS wasn't ready either. Ideally the Z10 would have been the 30 with 10.2.1 as OS 10.0 but that wasn't feasible.

True, it can be tough being an early adopter.

It means we get the toys first! But not all the refinements.

Think about this, your at a friends house and nothing on tv. You point your browser to noobroom to watch a movie and can't even broadcast it to the big screen? But the q5 gets that feature?! I've seen it all

This brings up a point I've always missed about dnla. I thought it only covered sharing/streaming of static files (stored), not streaming from a third party source? Isn't the point of miracast and playon to be a middleware interpreter to allow "streaming of streaming" because the original spec didn't cover that? I'm new to it. Just asking...

Yep pretty much, so dlna will play media files on a compatible TV whereas miracast is a wireless display technology similar to intels WiDi. All of the above essentially uses wifi direct but there are different pieces to the puzzle. Play on is using dlna through the media player applications and miracast for streaming.

Okay, let me add my 2 cents:

    I have the STL100-1 Z10 running 10.2.1.1055. I also have a Samsung UA40ES6200 Smart TV. Both are on Wi-Fi.

I enable Wi-Fi sharing on my Zed for videos and allow the TV to access them. Then I hit "Source" on the TV and select my phone...browse the videos and choose one to play.

Alternatively, I just open the videos section on my Zed, hold down my finger on the video I want, select playon, and select my TV. This way, I can control the TV's volume and play/pause from my phone.

Unfortunately Miracast isn't available for the Z10 so I can't watch streaming videos on my TV...which is a pity because I stream live rugby games on my phone. Though, I can just get an HDMI adaptor for that.

Alternatively, I think I should just get a Z30 and a Miracast receiver for my TV. :-P
