    Um, what?

This isn't a PlayBook autoloader, although it can both look for the files that make one and make them itself.

You can't. Just download the autoloader in the 10.3.0.140 thread.

I'm going out on a limb here but from what I remember seeing in the tools folder is a home grown gui, and the BlackBerry cap file, I'm sure that the gui could be made to run in Mac or Linux, but until BlackBerry releases a cap that is compiled for other platforms then there isn't much that can be done about it.

Sorry to burst the mac bubble, but I have a feeling that BlackBerry doesn't like apple that much....

Neither do they like Windows much, Link is still a hit or miss
But does BlackBerry need to release the cap for Darcy to make his tool for Mac's?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you couldn't be much more wrong. Cap is only included so it can be copied. Simple as that. That can happen on Linux, mac, windows, etc. Sachesi does exactly the same thing.

The "custom GUI" you speak of is the result of hundreds of hours of figuring out the qnx6 file system, how to read inode tables, working around the mangling that BlackBerry used to do to the file system, figuring out the rcfs file system, working out the upgrade server checking, and everything else. Every function in the "GUI" is something I had to figure out and code myself leading to upwards of 5000 lines of code. Not a huge project, but when you need to figure out how to do everything first, it's a challenge. The simplest part of all of that is creating the autoloader, because other than 18 bytes that need to be created it's a simple question of copying files into 1 big file.

The reason it's windows only is because it was done in c# and there's no .NET framework for any other OS. Mono is a possibility but I don't have a mac to try it on, so therefore no mac version.

Hello Darcy, nice to see your posts again.
If you do consider co tubing the development of your tool, you could test it for Linux on a Virtual Machine to get mono to work (on Linux).
Having said that though, my experience of a net mono application on Linux was disastrous... (admittedly, a significantly larger program though) .

Then I was way off, I understand how working on stuff that has no documentation can be and I appreciate the hard work. I meant no disrespect. even if it was "just" a gui, I understand how complicated that can get when trying to make things simple for the normal user. I accidentally sent a script I built and maintain that does some "unapproved" configuration changes on our workstations to allow multiple reading scenarios and it was 25 pages long.

I love this app and use it all the time.

    Thank you again.
