Darcy - On the last two builds when I do OS comparisons and select specific apps and try to "extract selected apps" it is extracting all apps instead of just the ones selected.

    I am running win 7 64 pro.

Thanks for the continued support of your program as well.

I may have found the problem, I will test a bit more and probably get a new version up in just under 24 hours. Thanks for letting me know about the issue.

Very minor issue, but extracting OS/radio files doesn't work for PlayBook .signed files. Bar extract works, though.

Looks like was a change may be with 10.1 because I tried to extract an Z10 10.1 OS image using qcfm_parser.py and QNX dumpifs tool (as presented in this paper) which did not work using an 10.1.0.4181 image.

But using Darcy's tools it worked without problems and much simpler... Thanks.

Hi Darcy. I love this utility, thanks for all of your hard work on it!

Do you know what the difference is between how your utility and Sachesi check for the SW version? If I check using yours for OS 10.2.0.1767 it indicates that an SR is not in the system, however if I check using Sachesi, it shows SR 10.2.0.415. Using the latest OS 10.2.0.1791, your util returns SR 10.2.0.424, Sachesi returns SR not available. I'm just curious why different results are being returned.

That's actually quite interesting. I've never noticed that before. It should be straightforward and we should be getting the same results. It's something I'll look at when I get a chance.

Sachesi version lookup uses the information behind it (like Device and Server Field) for the request whereas Darcy's appears to be hardcoded to a single device right now which is probably why the information differs.

We've tracked down a few differences and we'll both be doing some minor changes to try to get uniform results for everyone.

Thanks Guys, not a big issue with either app by any means, I was just curious about the different results.

So one thing that I've noticed with the new build of DBB is that the software update version check is also checked against the MCC/MNC (some carriers show a SW release for an OS whereas others dont, which is different than before). Cool.

Yeah, it should get the same results as Sachesi now.

I'm trying to figure out how to extract my application bar files from a Link backup. I looks like you can only extract from autoloader and signed files.

Different results for different people, but you can try. Just modify the backup so the version is lower than the 10.2 version (Or better, restore using Sachesi). But I'd try restoring settings, apps, and media one at a time.

So i am trying to change the Version number of a backup file and I keep getting the following error "An error has occurred, the version may not be properly changed. Index was outside the bounds of the array" any help? I cannot switch from my Z10 to Z30 because the OS level of the Z10 is higher then the Z30 and I need to change the version number.

I'll look into the error and see if it can be fixed, in the meantime you can try use Sachesi to do your restore since it ignores the version number.

Thanks... Also I just found out that I can open the bbb as a zip and modify the mainafest.xml to change the number, no tool required. If that does not work I will try the other tool! I am trying to use the device switch in Link. Not sure if that does anything different for preparing the new device for the restore etc.. so want to try Link first!

So I'm in the same boat. Trying to switch from Z10 to Z30. Getting the same "An error has occurred, the version may not be properly changed. Index was outside the bounds of the array" when trying to set the OS Version in the tool. I have also tried Sachesi, but it just keeps saying it can't open the backup file.

you can rename the file from .bbb to .zip using 7zip and edit the xml file. Have that file OS version match your OS version of the Q10 and it will work..

I think I've found the error and fixed it in version 1.5.1.1 Just a minor error in how the zip file was being handled when over 4GB.

were you using 32 bit counters That would be the issue I had as the file was 7GB.
