I just got a z30 off of kijiji with OS version 10.3.0.1052. The software release says 10.3.0.675. First question is what is the difference between those two? I do want to keep updating with leaked is versions, at least until 10.3.1 is out officially. So, is there a step by step guide how to update to a newer leak? Also, my z30 is actually an x00...if people ask I can describe it more.

Now how hard was that ?

Both threads were on thevery same page as the one you posted your unnecessary new thread on.

Can't find what you don't look for. If a person's only instinct is to ask and sit back waiting for an answer that's what they'll continue to do.

You have a pre-prodcution/evaluation model.. nice! Does it say "not for sale"? If you could post pictures that would be awesome.

OS version is just that, the OS version. Software release is a bundle including the OS version, radio version, webkit version, etc (You can see it for yourself under settings > about > OS.

There's two methods for updating, first, the autoloaders. They load the OS very fast, but wipe your device in the process, and while you lose your data, less bugs on leaks is guaranteed.
Here's a link to the BB10 OS archive, made and hosted by Thurask. Search for your desired version, download it, plug in your phone, and run the .exe that's inside the .7z file (BB link needs to be installed for this to work).

EDIT: Stopped right here, as your questions have already been answered.

And how did either one of you answer the first question? It's fine to suggest searching but maybe answer his q in the mean time, no?

@Shawn OS version is mostly what we look at here. The OS numbers are in sets of three, where 10.x.x.xx1 is the core OS, .xx2 is the radio and .xx3 is the corresponding dev OS.

The software release is basically a check with BlackBerry servers to make sure all of the pieces line up, if the OS matches the radio and apps and everything is good you will see the proper SR

Thanks for actually answering my first question. And i'm just starting to figure out the cb10 app, so I don't know how to search with it. I think the phone says not for sale, I actually don't know, because there's a black coating on the normally silver part of the front. I like how it looks, so I didn't change it. There are drop test stickers on the back of the device, under the cover. It says drop test battery tag or something, and rim reliability engineering laboratory. Always refers to research in motion, not blackberry, which is kinda weird. I can't take a pic now, but I could later

So you got a drop test device? RUN! Rotfl

It does sound like you ended up with an internal device. As to the search funtions, yeah the app is pretty mediocre at it. Desktop site is much better, with the ability to search within a thread, etc.

I know the screen was replaced, beyond that there looks like no damage at all. And yeah, I usually use the desktop site in my nexus 7

If you read post 2 I gave the OP 2 links.

That to me is an answer to the question.

Fwiw my response was more geared towards shriscean. But I was speaking to the first question, which is actually pretty difficult to find an answer to by searching.

No offense meant, I know you are quite thorough and helpful on these forums.

Here are the updating steps for you

    1. download sachesi http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...update-957892/

    2. go to the install tab

    3. drag and drop the blitz folder http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...l#post11107891
(this is a very stable OS, much more stable than what you are currently running)

always look for a "Blitz" download which contains 3 files people talk about it in here: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...nstall-976720/

destructive (autoloader) vs non destructive (blitz)
Destructive you will basically start your phone from fresh like a security wipe and non destructive you keep all your information just like an OTA update from your carrier. You should always backup your device before doing either.
I like to do an autoloader once in a while to maybe erase any bugs i had in the previous versions, or if I had strange bugs that no one else seems to have.

The stickies on http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/ willanswer a lot of your OS/Sachesi questions that you have in the future. In the CB10 app they aren't visible but if you go to the overflow menu (3 dots on the bottom right) then "View Stickies" they will all be there

    good luck and ask questions.

Guys. Don't tell him to load blend when we all know it only works on the passport and Porsche design and a few white listed devices. Don't send him on a wild goose chase.

He has what looks like an internal device...could be whitelisted, although doubt it coming from where he bought it.
