Can anyone explain me what are the options Local, Outlook email and SIM when we save a new contact?
Where is Phone Memory for saving a contact?

Can we set a default location for saving a contact?

Hi anikelaiya, Your phone offers you different locations to save contacts and if in calendar, which location to save the calendar.
Some people that only use text messaging or are looking for backup-backups to contacts use SIM. As mentioned above, Local is the device memory. If you are using any webbased service, like yahoo, gmail, outlook.com, you would check next to that service, if you are using the stand-alone Outlook Desktop client like Outlook 2007 or 2010, you would be syncing with BBLink and therefore the smartest place to save the client or calendar even would be to BBLink as that is where your Microsoft Outlook contacts and clients are saved.
Now that said, I honestly don't know where that save option is on contacts, (hopefully someone else does) as I just hit "save" and it automatically saves to my BBLink account. However on Calendar, when you make a new appointment/event on your device, you click on the box on the top right and it will offer you these choices.
I hope this helps a little. I will research the save on the contacts and post back for you. Thanks!

Outlook which will save, sync and backup via BBLINK. Everything -contacts and calendar should be with outlook 2010. Local shouldn't be used if you are using Outlook 2010. It's for when you are not syncing with any program.

    Yes.

    1. Backup your contacts with Fire Chest Backup (don't select encryption).
    2. Drag the "contacts" Zip file from Dropbox onto your desktop.
    3. UnZip.

Your contacts will appear as vCard 3.0 files in a folder on the desktop. Now you can import them anywhere you wish.

No, what I explained won't work because you do not use Outlook 2010 per that screen shot. You have an "hotmail" account and that is now called "Outlook.com" which is a web based program (cloud) and a very good one. Your contacts should sync and save in the cloud. Follow FireChestDotCom's advice for your back up. Good luck.

    Update:

I have downloaded Firechestbackup App and backed up my Contacts and Remember.

Now my Query is: Which category contacts are backed up through firechest back up? Means Local, SIM, Facebook, LinkedIn, BBM Contacts or what?????

Please advise and also tell me my default contact saving location within Local/SiM/Outlook.com so that I can regularly take back up of contacts......this will solve my problem....

Only local contacts are backed up.

SIM card contacts, Facebook contacts, Twitter contacts, BBM contacts are not backed up. These are all available from their relevant services.

If a local contact has an entry for BBM pin filled, then of course it will automatically link up with the respective BBM contact when you setup BBM on your phone.

Yes. So I am summarising our discussion now....
I will save a new contact on Q10 in Local Contacts and take a regular back up thru Fire chest.

    Right?????
