Not sure why Sachasi won't work for you, but you can also use an autoloader to install the radio file. Download the 859 radio for your phone, unpack it. Connect your phone to the computer and run the unpacked file.

You can get it here. Make sure to choose the correct one for your phone. It will end in 7z.

It is non-destructive. But like Usman has stated, if you updated your current OS with Sachasi then do the same with your radio file. If you used an autoloader to update your OS, then use the autoloader for your radio file.

Make sure that the name of the file you downloaded is xxxx.signed.bar, and not xxxx.signed.bar.zip

It might help you - i did autoload the same os on Q5.

This time i didn't open BBM, so it isn't active.
    Batterylife is amazing now.
I suppose this is because BBM checks for Messages, Channels etc in a unknown short period of time.

You could also disable 4G if your plan doesn't support it. This prevents unneeded switches in mobile bands.

Disable as many "allow run in background" under app settings as possible. Just give it a try for each own app. Especially android ones.
Don't forget to use Wi-Fi and be sure you are near the AP.

This is going to sound a bit odd. But I think there's a bug with the radio and how it hooks into bluetooth toggle. Let me explain.

I had been seeing ~1200-1500mah idle drain on my Passport which I would consider crap. One night it spiked even higher and brought the battery from 100% to 20% in around 5 hours. System was showing a consistent 50% cpu usage. Resetting the phone didn't help, nor did toggling cell network, changing to 2G, and/or turning off wifi.

I usually don't mess with Bluetooth toggle, I flipped that off and on and my idle consumption is now regularly in the 100-150mah vicinity and I noticed a small decrease in RAM usage of Bluetooth (meaning bluetooth previously had higher memory usage, even after reboots). System cpu usage dropped to ~5-10%.

I am writing this to see if it helps anyone else. I'm running the 859 radio on 2239 currently and it's been over 24 hours since i toggled bluetooth and my battery consumption is nice and low.

EDIT: I re-upgraded my radio to see if this issue hits again. I noticed on 859 it broke my NFC. (toggle in pulldown shows working, but actually go into settings and option to change NFC being on/off will be greyed out)

EDIT2: yeah there's some correlation. I'm attaching a screenshot of the memory usage, follow the baseline not the spikes. Note I just upgraded and mem usage at baseline started to climb, then I toggled and it shot back down. Some days back towards the beginning you can see the correlation.

No need to. Thurask has already done it and archived it here:

Be sure to load the one for your phone. Don't use radio autoloader if you updated your OS with Sachasi.

859 stays locked easier to signals even if week. Works well with my signal booster. The newer radio does not stay locked as well. It is likely those who have weaker signal conditions are getting worse battery life from the more frequent scanning.

I just see non-working NFC as a problem when doing hybrid. Otherwise 859 is more favorable for user experience. Hoping BlackBerry tunes sensitivity in next release to be more like 859.

I have the Documents to Go issue after loading 859 radio. It always said "Transfer unsuccessful. Please try again later. " when I created or opened a file. It happens to you?
