Hi, same problem with me. Which version of OS did the formatting for you? Please share.

Yep, happened to me, so I backed up with link, installed a 10.2 OS and formatted my SD card, then I re installed the 10.2.1 leak and restored my data and everything works

I don't see how this is a bug, the specifications clearly state that it supports up to 32GB SD cards.

New BlackBerry Q10 Specs - Specifications BlackBerry Q10 Smartphone - US

The fact that you're even able to use a 64GB SD card is pure luck at this point. Format the card on your PC and just be happy.

The problem you have with OS 1055 is that it gets stuck trying to download the media card driver to handle exFAT format. ExFAT is what's replacing FAT32 and has always worked in previous OS releases. If the SanDisk 64gb ultra sdxc card is new then you will not be able to format on your phone and Windows 7 will jot allow you to format to FAT32 either.

I had this problem yesterday on my Z10 and Z30.

    The following works without issues:

Download the guiformat program and connect the micro sdxc card with the adapter to a PC or laptop.

Open the program and select the drive letter assigned to the SD card. It will then format the card to FAT32 and work on your phones.

BE ADVISED. Do not try and format your card on the phone after this has been done or you will be back to square one.

    I hope this helps.

I've just ordered a 64gb sdxc card. If I understand the comments in this thread correctly I won't have any problem formatting or using it because I am still on 10.2? Anyone clear on this?

    Thanks for any help!

On 10.2.0, what format do the 64gb cards use, fat32 or exFat?

When I formatted with device on 10.2.0, it formatted to exfat.

Exfat was my problem when trying to format card on 10.2.1.

Just to be clear, once formatted to exfat in an earlier OS, the card is still readable in 10.2.1.1055?

How do you know it was formatted to exfat? Did you check its properties when in a card reader of a PC?

I have a 64gb card, but ran into the formatting problem and then formatted it fat32 to use, as formatting it exfat did not work in the Z30. I would prefer to have it formatted as exfat if that is supported, but I want to make sure I am understanding it properly. In other words, downgrading the OS and then formatting and later going back to the 10.2.1.1055 OS.

On earlier OS versions my card didn't really work. Pictures would disappear and reappear in exfat. Maybe a buggy driver? Well ever since I formatted to fat32 it's been brilliant. Although formatting a 64gb to fat32 is not the easiest in windows 7. Used a combination of command line format and hformat or whatever that German program was called. Only then did it work. Microsoft implemented an artificial size limit on drives that fat32 can format but with a few tricks you can format larger drives.

Can anyone verify if this is still an issue on 10.2.1.1259? I don't want to risk making my card unusable again.
