Why would anyone be leaving BB for any reason? As of January 2014 the US Dept. Of Defense has completed a major review of cell phones, including iOS and Android...and is using BlackBerry in 90% of its operations. Didn't anyone see (about a year ago now)...on TV the interview of the person responsible for acquiring equipment for NATO? He said they are using almost exclusively BlackBerry. The interviewer was incredulous and asked something like "Didn't you consider the iPhone and Android?" His reply was, also almost verbatim.."Yes, but our specifications include performance, reliability, and security...the cool factor is not a spec."
So again, it amazes me that anyone would continue to succumb to the mainstream media practice of bashing certain people and technology...based on....rumors and hype.

I'm sure that the technical challenges could be overcome if the right people put their minds to it... I mean hackers get into software all the time, so nothing's impossible!

It's been done before, BlackBerry patched it. Find another loophole, and BlackBerry will still patch it.

If you were seriously rich and had money to burn, you could run a key cracker in a Cloud... That's about it though... And that would be fixed as quickly as a loophole...

Actually, jail broken iOS builds have a lot of the same customizability that custom Android OSes have. In fact, many of the iOS UI advancements started with the custom software on Cydia, etc.

So, yeah, the big 2 have an advantage there, too, and all because of Chen's low Emotional Intelligence! BlackBerry should be leaking ASAP!

    Z-30/STA 100-5/10.3.0.700+.296/T-Mobile USA
That's only an advantage from one point of view. The fact that it is damn near impossible to gain root access to a BlackBerry device is an advantage from the other.

Jailbraking an iPhone isn't exactly a feature. Just means a security hole was found and exploited successfully.

Not really something to be bragging about.

This is proof that it's possible! I'm just trying to rescue us from weeks of no-leak boredom, but it's really BlackBerry's problem to solve. Give us some leaked software, Chen!

It's been tried before, and succeeded at one point or another. The main point is that one of BlackBerry's best features is security and while finding holes and getting them patched isn't a bad thing, believe me they'll be patched as quickly as you can say ChenHammer.

With passport release, September would be nice. 10.3.1 for all devices will be later on but at least we'll have autoloaders

How is no-leaks a win to the average consumer?

Instead of leaker witch hunts, I'd much rather Chen spend his efforts improving carrier relationships so that BlackBerry devices can be supported like competitor devices are (price subsidies, point of sale advertising, etc.).

Oh, and few posts on this forum receive as many "likes" as a leaked OS post, so that's a great sign as to what is needed and wanted by this community.

For those who don't want leaks, you can just not download them, so why oppose them?

    Okay.....

Disclaimer, I love leaks, in case no one noticed

    1) in case anyone missed Chen's reign somehow this company is no longer a consumer driven. Do not expect them to do anything that is focused on the average consumer.

    2) Leaks can and do have harmful effects. There is information, software and hardware that should not see the light of day. Thankfully most of it hasn't.

    3) of course CB wants leaks. Many of the people who spend their time here are tinkerers at heart.

Because you are showing your competition what you are currently working on. This is a no brainer when it comes to competition with other business's. Do you own BlackBerry stock? If you do then you should admire what Chen is doing.

Truth, I love looking at threads asking about root on BB10 or the Android Runtime inside it. It's a good laugh.

Only way you'll have a root on a BlackBerry device is if your higher up on the food chain and work for BlackBerry
