Yes if your country doesn't have 4G you won't see that. Also LTE = 4G to some carriers where as others HSPA+ = 4G it's a confusing world

Thanks Kris... i just want clarification on this.. well i believe in the philippines LTE is just equal to 4G that's why I'm just getting 4G and not 4GLTE.

    Hi!

I have installed 2342 on my z10. Having seen a decrease of battery life in comparison with the 1881, I was thinking about installing the radio files kindly posted by Kris. Can I simply run the exe file over my 2342 leak that I'm using since yesterday? Or do I have to do a clean install of everything?

    Thks!

You can just run the exe. It will not overwrite any of your restored/configued settings.

I just flashed my z10 with the 1881 radio and APN settings can still be edited! Huzzah! It's still too early to deduce what effect this will have on the battery performance but I'll report back after a couple days of use.

Hey Kris, when I flash the installed 2343 OS with the 1881 and 1917 radio files, I get this alert in the hub that says I have 255 voicemails, have you ever heard of that? When I upgraded from 1721 to 1881, I got the same problem, went back to 1721....VM alert gone. Oh and you cant delete the alert, it just stays there in the hub. So for me thus far, from 1721, 1880, 1917 and 2342, only 1721 and 2342 don't have that problem. There are several threads on similar issues, but no cause ever stated, the did say that Blackberry is aware though. Any idea what could be causing this?

Did you try a security wipe after flashing all the files you wanted?

Ok whew...I really need to learn more about this stuff so I don't ask silly questions lol
Actually, I find that it helps to know about this stuff before loading leaks and flashing radio. Some of the questions would then be unnecessary

Well folks, tonight after work, I'm going to build a radio file from 10.0.10.85 and try to flash it with 10.1.0.2342. I know this will more than likely not work, and if it does cause some serious issues. However I have recieved a few emails about 10.0 radio on 10.1 OS due to their respective carriers not yet supporting 10.1 and they lose data connection. If it works, I will report back here with a link in OP to 10.0 radio file. I suggest that no on undertake this process until I get back with my findings. If you do undertake this process on your own, as always be aware of the risks involved, have a way to fix your problem, and hope it doesn't hard brick your device (hoping it doesn't to mine)

I don't see how you can hard brick your device unless out of anger and frustration you bang your device against a wall.
Having said this, I do agree with Kris, that unless you have a very good idea of how everything works and know how to fix your own problems, not to try this yourself. If you really intend to, I suggest you message someone who is well informed to confirm that you won't brick your device.
I personally have no reason to go down to .85 because I feel the 10.1 radio files work much better with the device.
However, the data connection issue may be caused by the radio incompatibility and the carrier.
I will say this though. Usually during major version changes (10.X level changes), in the past legacy devices, the radio file will not be compatible. It will boot halfway, or will have major functions malfunctioning.

Not entirely unexpected. Sets some parameters as far as what radios can be mixed with what OS images, e.g. an 10.1-level radio with a 10.1 level OS.

To be honest I think I did, can't recall for certain as it's 2 Z10s I upgrade when there's a leak I want to try. What I know for sure is that the wife's z10 did not have the issue I did. Anyway, I kept the 2342 full version installed, and while the battery drain is greater now, it's not horrible, so I'll keep it as is and look out for the next leak! Thanks Kris!

Yeah, that appeared to happen with someone buggier system loads that were available last year during the pre-release stages. It's good to see that even with the non-Wifi radio failing, Wifi didn't fail completely and the OS remained usable. Speaks to the stability of the QNX base for the OS.

with 10.1.0.2324 I have done the original (got about 14hrs on very very light usage)and 0.1880 radio files. 1880 caused a massive battery drain for me. Trying 1917 now.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up... Maybe I'll just downgrade to 1880.

Any more news to share regarding this test Kris ?? I'm still running 2342 since Friday night in its original release form...so far results are good but not great...will wait a few more days to see if overall performance improves.

Nope just that don't use 10.0 radios on 10.1 builds and it'll carry on throughout the other iterations
