A debatable issue. Many swear by it. Devs claim to use it for that purpose. The self proclaimed experts here claim it does a full reboot (hard) as well.

I am not convinced either way. I am done with battery pulls except in extreme cases of bricking, so I am sticking with the power button hold for roughly 20 seconds for a reset.

Until I can fully understand the rom on BB10 I will do it this way. Anybody who leaks and wipes will notice certain things remain in nvram or bios equivalent as well.

So. Let me think. The builders of the device use that technique and the devs and coders of the qnx for the device use that technique. And the testers for the os within the company use that technique. And non use the power button for a full hard reboot. But that's not hard evidence of how it shud be done? Hmmmm. Well....

Then let me ask this question. Who told you that pushing the power button up top was the only and true way to hard reboot? And what proof do u have that is the right way instead?

And for th record. Some of the "self proclaimed experts" in here. Actually are.

    Just saying.

I want to load android run time 810. I have downloaded it and unzipped. There r two BAR files. How to load it?
Means after loading it do I need to reload app android apps or a restart will do?
You load the two bar files the same way as you sideload your android apps.
Here is a detailed guide for sideloading bar files:
How to put Android apps onto your BlackBerry 10 phone (Windows Guide) | CrackBerry.com
After loading the 810 runtime it is not necessary to reload the android apps, just reboot the phone

Upgraded to .1047 on my Q10. Now I can't receive emails on my phone(even after deleting it and re-adding it, rebooting), can't connect to my BBM either. Any solutions?

Edit: I've downloaded BBM channels and BBM works fine now. Email still an issue.

For BBM you need to install channels.

I'm guessing you did a full restore? Try wiping with out restoring (you could probably get away with restoring all but app data.

That's not a bug. Always been like that, shows the name of the folder you are viewing and by holding it down until the icons flash allows you to edit the folder name.

How the heck do you manage to do so. Every time I've tried creating ".nomedia" I get the error "You must type a file name". The PC is reading the .nomedia as the extension.
I use Ghost Commander on the device.

An alternative to the ".nomedia" file is to out all the files you want to hide in a directory, then rename the directory (in ghost commander) to something that starts with a ".", like ".private"

The BlackBerry file manager won't see it anymore.

To get it back, rename, removing the leading "."

Hey Adam...sorry to hear that. I'm using .1047 Android Runtime so I had to sideload using debug token, but no issues so far. My advice is, once you've loaded the OS, do a Security Wipe. In my experience, you may get crappy batt life when you are sideloading and messing around with the runtime, but once you've sideloaded everything and the batt dies, you can pull it off for a few minutes. Then place it back and let it charge...you should experience better batt life then. That's what worked for me.
The overheating seems to have gone away.

The real problem I'm experiencing is that the hub keeps crashing. When I first added my accounts, I synced them "forever", so I thought perhaps there was too much memory being taken by all these stored messages. So I deleted all the accounts, and re-added them with just a "7 day sync". but the problem happens again. The hub works for a while, and then it stops refreshing, and I can't see any of the messages. The hub root shows the accounts and the numerical indicator on each account showing the unread messages, but when I swipe left to see the messages, nothing is there.

    Any ideas?

Updated with .1047, got work to do! Configure settings, sync and sideload! Now if there's a 2/3/4-only leak and she asks "will that work on my phone", now I'll know what it feels like..."sorry honey, but NO, it won't work on the -1" wuahahahahahahaha

On the new hybrid (BTW, thanks) it says "10.2.1047-1156.....etc... Does that mean it has a base OS of 1047, the updated apps from 1157 and the 1156 radio? Or do we sideload the updated apps separately after running the autoloader. It's not clear to me from the name of the file? Thanks for your patience.

    I'm actually a very patient person....until I'm not.

Here is what I recommend. If you have an STL100-2/3/4 and you are already running 10.2.0.1047, then all you need is the 1156Radio-1157NewApps file. Download, run it, it will produce an autoloader (the radio only) and a folder full of the new BAR files from 1157. Honestly, since you're not installing a whole new OS, it doesn't matter which order you install those. You will need to do two separate things though: run the radio autoloader and sideload the new BAR files.

If you're on an STL100-2/3/4 and you do NOT have 10.2.0.1047 installed, then grab the full hybrid package in my thread. When that is double-clicked it will produce two items: a full autoloader (OS and radio), and a folder of the new 1157 BAR files. In this situation, run the full autoloader FIRST. That will require a restore (if you still do that) because it will install a complete OS. Once everything is setup again, sideload the BAR files fro the 1157 folder to get the latest versions.

    I hope that is helpful.

Hey @berrry_leaks. I was just wondering if on the next leak, the thread starts and the first 3 posts are disclaimers and everything else and then if people start asking something that was in the OP just lock the thread. Does that make sense? Just wonderin. I've read every post in this thread and haven't had to ask for any help thanks to you guys...and a few others. I think it with help eliminate the stl-100-1? Questions and requests for certain links.

Posts like these and several others is what makes these leak threads a pain to go through to find information that is on topic.

I'm guilty of it as are many others but tighter enforcement would help.

    Just a thought.
