May I ask for some clarity in regards to the:

    sys.pim.contacts and Quick access bar

is the Quick access bar in the contacts app?

I'm thinking it is and it is the the alphabet bar running vertically on the right of the contacts app and the function refereed to as 'quick' is that you can drag your finger down/up and stop on the letter of your choice.

Problem for me is works on my Z10 STL 100-3 10.2.0.1047 and the posts earlier say it's broken on 1047 so now I'm confused as to what the Quick access bar is.

Holy cow!!! It looks like my restore is going to work. I haven't been able to restore since I first jumped into 10.2.

Its only 12% percent done so I hope I don't jinx myself.

    Edit- Now its at 25%!
    Edit #2- 50%
    Edit #3- WooHoo, 75%
Final Edit- COMPLETE!!! As you can tell, this has been a big deal to me.
Don't you love it when things work? Glad you managed to restore at last!

Initial feedback, seems to be more stable overall than 1047. I'm not getting issues with Android runtime crapping out when detecting the network. Netflix still doesn't work. You can run the app fine, log in fine, but the content refuses to stream. It just hangs on "loading" permanently. This could be problematic for the final implementation of 10.2 Android runtime.

Once again, thanks for the leak Here's hoping BlackBerry does not cause us to lose ability to run certain apps in 10.2.

Also, any clue why BlackBerry does not formally make the change to the Android runtime not to require the debug permissions for the apps containing native code?

    Posted via CB10
Much of this was answered in the other thread that you so graciously wanted to post the same question in.

The runtime will not be fully unlocked as it is meant for developers to be able to port over their own work and apps. Not for the layman. Same with actually side loading of an app. That was meant as a means for developers to load their apps to said device for testing purposes. Not so every Tom, ****, and Jim to load whatever app they wanted onto their device.

You're right about it being the vertical bar. I don't see where it says it doesn't work on .1047. Keep in mind, this thread is about .1323 and on .1323 it doesn't work, which is why the fix we offered is to use the most recent working .bar

4.2 was released in November of 2012, even a 4.0 ice cream sandwich runtime would have been a huge deal / way better. Gingerbread was released in 2010.

I'm having a problem that it doesn't show in the hub. Done a few reboots but no joy. Skype works fine and contacts appear in my contact list...
is it the version from App world or the sideloaded Android version?

Also if you have other Android apps installed the issue of the back button bar always showing is still there?
    Thanks

My problem with 7-zip was all the junk that installed with it. Took me an hour to root it out! Easier for me to use WinRAR and be done with it. Download the 7z file, sure (better compression) but change the file extension to .rar to extract and load. To each his own...
Nothing installs with it if you downloaded it correctly, which you didn't want to know how I know?!

I thought that IMS was the system that was used for wifi calling. I guess I need to read up on it again. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

I still can't believe that BlackBerry didn't fix that, I mean Skype is native and not a sideloaded app (yes ported android but native in bb world). Why the hell wouldn't it work in a 10.2 leak, everyone reported that issue and it should have gotten to BlackBerry by now

When I installed 7Zip a few weeks ago, they *tried* to load a bunch of bloatware. I just unchecked each of those options, or said I do not agree to their usage terms, and it only installed the program with no other "features". Hope this helps.

You need to stop and delete whatever you downloaded because it's bad... Not the real 7-zip...

You cleared up my confusion. I had the broke part backwards. User error! lol Now I understand why the bar from from 1157 was offered up as a workaround.

I know what thread I'm on. I'm trying to make an informed decision in regards to making the jump to 1323 as I don't want to back here and ask for help on something I could have known when I'm in the process of the jump to 1323.

I use the Quick access bar a million times a day so it is very important to my decision making process.

I like to know what can be known about the knowns knowns ,well as much as can be known about the knowns.

I find if I'm studious about my research I'm more likely to be successful in my endeavors.

    Anyway you were very helpful.
