Probably free when you got it 2 years ago, but I'm thinking the 7z devs acquired a few sponsors along the way to make it profitable. Surprised me because I went to the 7zip website (per Google Search) to get it and then I get hijacked! Live and learn.
Sometimes I go to oldversions.com and find old versions of that don't have stuff in them.

Note: Not sure if that site is safe to download from but it is good for researching.

FB check-in not working for me on STL100-2.

Tried deleting and reinstalling FB, deleting and recreating account, restarting, battery pull, all location permissions set to on, but still get this...

    Hi Kris,
Do you have any idea why the "check in" things on FB not working ?
I have tried to uninstalled it then reboot the BB, Installed it again but still not working.
It works when i open BB map and GPS for Google maps, seems the FBB cannot read the permission setting.

    please advise, Thanks

Infact Kevin should be putting up a funding page to give Leaks and anyone else doing such great work a little extra scratch be it for devices, testing time or red bull. Let me know if anything like it exists and I will gladly contribute to the cause.

    Thanks

    Hi everyone,

Just now I saw the excellent 1323 LAKE. Thank you team CRAKBERRY

I've not read all the responses, so I ask you people what are the 5 major bugs of version 1323?

Is it even worth it to upgrade from 1047??

    Thanks in advance

Most of the major bugs are mentioned in the OP or the first few posts after that. In MHO, it's very worth the upgrade, but that's a judgement call for you alone. It seems smoother and more responsive, and so far, I think I'm getting better battery life, but it's still early to make that call.

Initial feedback, seems to be more stable overall than 1047. I'm not getting issues with Android runtime crapping out when detecting the network. Netflix still doesn't work. You can run the app fine, log in fine, but the content refuses to stream. It just hangs on "loading" permanently. This could be problematic for the final implementation of 10.2 Android runtime.

Once again, thanks for the leak Here's hoping BlackBerry does not cause us to lose ability to run certain apps in 10.2.

Also, any clue why BlackBerry does not formally make the change to the Android runtime not to require the debug permissions for the apps containing native code?

    1) force you to read more on the forums
    2) no LAKE in it
    3) the team is BerryLeaks, so it must be a bug too
    4) it helps you to write down the site's name correctly, CrackBerry
    5) you'll enjoy it too much that battery will drain faster

As for #5 on your list, I fully agree. I'm spending so much time on CB10 that my battery is going down quite fast.

With my last two installations, I've actually been doing a security wipe BEFORE I load a new OS...granted I did that twice in one morning this week trying to get all the battery issues sorted out. I still don't know whether it was the new OS, the older BBM Channels beta, outrageous BBM Group activity, or a lethal combination of all those things. Either way, I'm very happy with my current setup, which is a fresh 1047-1048 base install with my latest PostAutoloader package (or something fairly close to it) sideloaded over top.
So postautoloader is non destructive I take it?? Might try if it is. Thanks in adnvace.

    "What junk?"

There were "freebee" add-ons that took up residence within Chrome. 7zip would not download if I unchecked them... One I remember would monitor my typing, suggesting word options like a thesaurus. Another tried to tailor advertising "specials" for me. Think there were only 4 but the worst imposed itself as my home page and search engine. That was just too much and I extracted them as soon as I could.

WinRAR cost me $29 (after the trial period) but at least it does the job and doesn't take over my laptop.
I've been using the trial version of winrar for about 10 years now!

When I installed 7Zip a few weeks ago, they *tried* to load a bunch of bloatware. I just unchecked each of those options, or said I do not agree to their usage terms, and it only installed the program with no other "features". Hope this helps.

It would not install for me without checking those options. Reading your post tells me I must've done something wrong - it was like, "you want this?...well you better check that..." Sometimes free isn't always free...!

Can we please move the 7zip.discussion to another thread as we want to keep this clean for issues with the OS, not what is or is not a good zip program.

7zip installs no malware, spyware add-ons.
The original project lives on sourceforge.

As to winrar... why would one pay for an inferior product if there is a superior free open source one? (7zip)
