Download the debrick os and radio files using sachesi, change the files extentions to. Bar and install it using sachesi. All went well, and finally managed to change the contacts theme to dark.

All android sideloads works, no issues with the connection.

So was this a destructive install then? I'm a little confused using the debrick vs upgrade with Sachesi.

I have read the posts, but maybe I missed the Sachesi settings for finding STL 100-4 download settings for finding the update files.

Yes, I personally verified that Settings is the culprit. Many others have noted the same. After I flashed 1791, I made sure I could change my theme without issue and also made sure I could toggle off my FB and LinkedIn in Contacts and they would STICK! Then I did a full restore and immediately lost dark theme and could not toggle FB/LinkedIn in Contact. I then did a security wipe and did it again, this time only restoring application and media. All was well after that. Give it a shot.

You are so right! I did security wipe and only restored app data and media. Now light theme is holding for me in contacts now! Thanks so much!

However I still will have BBM open sometimes in black. Doesn't happen every time but has still happened even after the wipe and partial restore. I have to close and re-open anywhere from once to 3 times to get it to be light again.

But thanks for the info for contacts!!

I am unable to restore from the back up I did prior to installation. Said incompatible device software. Is there a solution for this? Seems I could do a restore after the leak I installed prior to this one.

Is the link you posted for STL 100-1 an Autoloader? Or can I use Sachesi to install the 7 zip (after unzipping) file onto my phone non-destructively? Many thanks!

Settings also contains all your contacts, text messages, password keeper info (if you use it) and your calendar info

I'm getting the same problem. i think it's the way my network deals with certain file hosting sites (I'm at college using a university network).

Contacts I have on Google. Text messages no worries, none important to keep. Calendar might be a problem in the future but fortunately not one today and password keeper got backed up with Blackberry Protect so it restored them.

    Whew! LOL

It wasn't a destructive install. The destructive install is if you're using the autoloader. The one i did with the debrick files were similar with if you're updating your phone OTA.

It's really easy. Using sachesi instead of choosing upgrade in the "mode" box, you choose debrick. There will be 2 links for core OS with its apps and the other one is for the radio. Download those files and change the file extention to .bar because usually they were downloaded in .zip. After that just sideload those two files just as you sideload apps.

The device will install those two files just like you're updating your phone OTA. It will reboots itself each time it's finished installing each files. I usually starts with installing the radio first and then the OS.

Thanks for the explanation, definitely much clearer now. I had used the upgrade files. I wonder if there is any difference in the overall install between these two methods. Did your Software Release version change?

I searched this thread but didn't notice anything. Has anyone come across any issues of the HUB hanging when using a Gmail account. I've had this happen more than twice since installing 1803 on my STA100-5 Z30 last night. I never had any issues with 1791. I've had to restart my device each time to clear the issue. Very strange.

BTW, I am running the 595 unlocked runtime like I did on 1791 but doubt that should cause this issue.

Thanks and finally I am able to do this upgrade without erasing the whole damn phone.

If there is a way to compare which file has changed and do an incremental update it would be better. Less file to transfer and less wait. The phone was in the BlackBerry logo for a few minutes and I was **** worried.

Ok, I have to report. I'm sitting in my bedroom right now where I usually get one bar and at times, lose signal all together and I've got FOUR BARS! This radio seems to be making a noticeable difference.
