What, that 10.3 radio? Doubt it, stick with 10.2.1 radios.

Hmm, I thought you got both devices working, was it yesterday?

And re: the avatar change, I take it you got tired of ppl assuming you were male, eh? That should do it.
LOL. I'm trying. Honestly though, work in male dominated field, have unisex name, am accustom to it, actually find it pleasantly amusing. Was joking round with avatar.

The z10 was good with 10.2.1.2228 from the get go, radio too. I got mms + tmo wifi calling working on the q, and I think it's battery is happier after the wipe also. Something had to be messed up after update, causing additional battery drain. But the q10 radio? That's still a problem, and I rely on it daily. Should have swapped out radio as soon as I realized it was still stinky, right after the wipe and prior to setting up phone. But now, I've spent time making it 'mine' again, so I'll wait a week /spend some time loving my BB, before swapping radio and risk having to wipe again. (Apparently, if you've not autoloaded OS, which I haven't, swapping radio via autoload can brick it.. and assume I have to autoload radio, unless the one you suggested is from an official release and I can then load via Sanchesi. Right? Worked w/ PC's and know there's always risk of, to put it mildly... more work.)

In case you haven't tried it yet, the Device Monitor (Settings/App Manager/Device Monitor) is extremely handy for tracking down battery draining processes, as 10.2.1 added a dedicated "Battery" tab where you can graph out cumulative per-process battery usage over time.

Well the key thing is always to have a good backup. For critical updates I will do 2 full system backups, one using BlackBerry Link and one using Sachesi, and then I use various 3rd-party apps to do some app-specific backups too. (Contacts, Remember, SMS, etc.)

Sachesi more or less just calls native BlackBerry processes to do a backup but it does it in a slightly different way than Link does so I feel better doing it with both, just in case. (I do that rigamarole for major OS updates on my daily driver that has all the important data on it. I don't generally bother on my "experimental" Z10 that I mostly use for OS testing and non-BlackBerry-World Android apps.)

You should be able to load a radio file using Sachesi without using an Autoloader (if you have the BAR file which, in general as you mentioned, tends to only be available on "official" releases), but sometimes it seems that it is order-specific - ie the OS won't load unless the radio is already updated, or the radio won't load unless the OS is already updated, that kind of thing. And I def have bricked my devices trying to load a radio only in the past (including doing it with a radio-only autoloader), but I think the last time I tried that was last year.

Since MEGA released their desktop client, I now have the wherewithal to replace this signed file archive with an autoloader archive. Just extract and enjoy, or split if you want to make your own. Easier that way.

Just be patient while things get working.

I think I had to reboot the phone a few times to get it to work. Didn't softbrick either.

I used Darcy's Tools to make autoloader with signed radio only files that didn't brick phone after updating with Sachesi...I'm on Verizon 10.2.1.2947 and for some silly reason the Verizon (STL100-4) Radio file was worse than STL100-2/3...I did try about 3 or 4 different radios...finally settled on 10.2.1.2229...

Edit: May 3... now using radio 2759...

    Hi thurask--
I'm also using the 2235 radio, but with OS 2234. I'm on a Q10 and I have excellent battery life already. Would you recommend I update the radio only, anyway?

I think 2274 is better, personally.

downloading radios for Q10. Do the greater numbers generally means newer or later versions? Also, any idea which radio works with 10.3 on Q10? I have managed to install 10.3 on Q10 but phone/sms does not work.
