    Hi guys,

I've tried looking around but couldn't find any software to extract (.bbb) backup file.

I know few softwares are in the 'will support' phase but i was wondering if there's something already there as i really can't wait long time to get my data back.

As 90% of the cases, i've done the backup/update - successful. Try to restore later, does not work. Losing my data for the second time now in 3 updates and never learn my lesson not to mess around with latest leaks....

    Cheers

A .bbb is just a zip file that contains some encrypted archives. You can't extract those archives without your encryption key.

No, it's in the 'will not support' phase for Blackberry 10.

The one linked to is for BBOS7.

At least now I know that the "*.tar" files are encrypted. I still need a wee bit more information, though. Should the extension be ".tgz" rather than ".tar"? (That is, are they encrypted using the GNU tar program and GNU gzip?) (Answer: No. The command "tar -tzvf app.tar.gz" reports that the thing isn't in gzip format.)
