installed dev OS release 10.3.3.0746 on a Z10, than added by sideload missing apps from previous 10.3.2.xxxx versions
so everything seems like working, with an exception of WhatsApp from downloaded from BB World
installed ok, got and entered received code, but then it goes to "initialize" until it gives up and fails with a suggestion to restart phone......of course, same thing happens after.

Did anyone managed to get WhatsApp working on 10.3.3.0746 ?
If yes, what version of Android file used ?

    Thanks

My understanding is that Whatsapp servers will not accept connections from any BB10 client app as of 2017.

That's correct. Dkonigsberg from the WhatsApp team confirmed that on here in a few WA topics.

I am planning on getting a BB Leap. What r the chances that WhatsApp will hav full functionality in January 2017 on the Leap after i correctly follow the above mentioned instructions?
I wud buy the Leap even if i get full functionality for WhatsApp using a supported browser.
I just want to be sure of having full WhatsApp functionality on the Leap if not, i wud rather wait for the Mercury.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you really wants to buy BB10 all touch phone better buy Z30,
    Or decide after 31 Dec.

According to WhatsApp, both in the notice in the BB10 app and in the information on their website, they will not support hardware running certain older OSs, including BB10 after Dec. 31. That would include all BB Leaps running BB10.

If you read the information carefully, you will see that WhatsApp doesn't say anything about the app itself, just the hardware and OS versions.

Again, my understanding is that Whatsapp servers will not accept connections from any BB10 client app as of 2017.

Facebook always kill older API versions, it's how they evolve the API and it's a waste of money from WhatsApp working on a platform that even the creators are no longer properly supporting + the general platform limitations (stuff like no way to show a proper call screen for WhatsApp calling)

    Nothing.
They are expanding and affecting handsets and their OSes are not.
If BlackBerry decides to build a new OS today with updated features and newer android runtime, FB and WA will work.
So this has nothing to do with them having something against BB.

BlackBerry 10 isn't interesting anymore for developers. There's hasn't been any new features added and we will have to work with whatever is available. No wonder WhatsApp is stopping the support.

Even BlackBerry couldn't care less. Just take a look at the new improved Facebook app.

That won't work 'cause in order to use the Web client, you have to activate the connection from the WA app each time you open the browser/reboot your phone. And you can't do that from a non-functioning app (the BB10 app, that is). It would work, however, if you activate it each time from a supported phone, i.e. activate from supported phone --> use on BlackBerry in Opera browser. But only if both are connected to the same WiFi network.
