Read a few days ago about AIR being removed from the bb10 os from 10.3. My question is does it improve battery life?

Another question. Does on 10.3 leaks does the ui change to flat across all apps? Like cb app for example. Doesn't adopt a flat design? Igran? Blaq

I dont think it will allow for much better battery.

The flat UI will affect system menus and such but if the app was built with some other special UI features they will need to be adjusted accordingly to maintain the flat look throughout

Removing AIR could improve ram usage slightly. Otherwise it will just ensure nothing is written for that garbage laggy runtime. It was never written to run well on these devices... Everything I've seen in it has been a lagfest.

The OS will use less RAM without the AIR runtime. It will still exist as part of the Android runtime though. They are just removing the native one.

Slightly more available RAM and storage space, less money wasted on Adobe royalties and much less garbage/useful apps (debatable) in BB World. Maybe a marginal tick in battery life, although any running app brings that down regardless of what it's coded in.

I'll just be glad to see the end of AIR. High overhead junk.
