Side loading won't work because Android runtime is working on 10.2 as of yet.

Noticed that the Scotiabank and Presidents Choice apps are no longer in the app world with this leaked os version. Is that because they have not been upgraded to work with 10.2?

So I used SCrid2000 autouploader which was super easy to use and successfully installed 10.2. Few questions as this is my first time doing this:

    1) Say I want to go back to 10.1, how do I do so?
2 If I leave it as is, when the official version of 10.2 comes out, will I need to do anything special to load it to my phone or just install the software update once I get the notification?
    3) I backed up my phone to Link, but I am guessing that it does not back up contacts and emails? What would happen if I attached my phone to BB Link with this leaked version, would it overide the leaked software? And do I have to add all my email accounts each time I install a leaked file?

Finally, what are the biggest changes from 10.1 to 10.2 that I should be testing?

    Thanks!
If you add your passwords again all is good

is there a link you could post on how to edit the manifest file?
These are the instructions I followed (there was a link in this thread many pages ago).

    http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-ti...our-os-814749/

So far, everything I've tried is working OK. I'm not a power user though, so I haven't thoroughly tested too much. I was able to sideload apps and they seem to work fine. Note that I didn't install the 4.2.2 Android runtime, just left the one that was built into the autoloader.

I'm still trying to figure which version of App World actually works....

    Good luck!

Can someone please post a step-by-step guide on how I can install this OS with Blackberry World 10.1 and android 4.2.2 runtime? I've never installed software updates any other way than running a single autoloader. Kind thanks!

Just to share since I've seen so many contact probs in here. I know there's other ways but I used intouch app from bbw. Just search IntouchApp in bbw and you'll never lose your contacts again. I gave up on link ever since I found this app.

EDIT: I know everyone has their own way of syncing their contacts I just thought i'd share one that's app based so that people have more than one options to do it.

This is th 2nd leak I've installed that the battery is draining so fast.

50% in 2 hours. I'm pretty sure everything has settled down. I might trying other radio files, but might have to revert back.

Only new file I installed is the new BBM from the betazone.

    My "restore" story.

I downloaded from the original link on the OP. I tried to restore from my original backup - no go, which was what I expected from reading this thread. I edited the manifest file as instructed, tried again and still no go. I was about to set up my phone from scratch, when I saw SCrid2000's post and new autoloader. I thought, "what the heck, may as well try it". I ran the auoloader - it was A LOT slower to install. I then tried to restore from the modified (with 10.2.0.228 renaming) backup file, and SUCCESS! I restored my settings first, and now just finished restoring my apps. I haven't had a chance to test anything yet, but it's looking good!

As always, THANK YOU to Kris, lbfe, XSacha, and now SCrid2000 too! (I hope I haven't missed anyone). You guys are the best!

Now to test this thing out....
if you dont mind me asking..How did you modify the back up file?
