Give it a little time before pronouncing it gone. I thought mine went away with the last official release as it did for a while, though it did greatly reduce it.
I do hope you are correct. Looking forward to seeing if it holds.

Same here, no double typing and it's been quite a while now. My double typing was absolutely atrocious and this is my second AT&T Passport. Really hope this is a true fix! But, so far so good.

the keyboard will still degrade over time and the double typing will come back, they just adjusted the debounce timing.

On my q10 for the first time in a good while. Miraculously I haven't experienced double typing since I installed this last night. I'm feeling good. But if it comes back, I'm gonna flush this damn q10.

Where did you read that? I have been on 4 different 10.3.2 versions and only had double typing with the 840 version. That sounds like a software issue, otherwise my degraded keyboard would still be degraded would it not, I believe it would.

I had double typing on my Classic on every recent OS prior to 2339. My carrier swapped it with a new device. The issue has gone.

Didn't read it, it's a result of me having both a broken kb and good one.

they've been increasing the debounce timing recently which is why we're seeing people say their double typing has gone away.
Eventually the keyboard will fall out of those specs again. My original keyboard that had horrible double typing has so far done double typing on very os.

    There's a problem: keyboard membrane
There's a symptom: the letters will double type

Software can fix the symptom, but won't fix the problem.
Hardware fixes the problem and thus the symptom.

How do they solve this by a software update? Do they just poll the keyboard and when a key stroke is repeated too often in too short a time, they just discard the multiple characters? I assume that there is a correct way to build these keyboards that includes only one "key press" is detected when the key is pressed once... but they're now scanning for errant multiple presses and filtering?

I may be wrong, but I guess the proof is in the results, not whether or not they've had to adapt the software to deal with 'defective' hardware.

I'll advise my niece and sister who have a Q10 and Classic respectively that if they're having problems with double typing, they should update their OS.

I guess what I meant was: "have BB keyboards always relied on debounce techniques or is it just a coping mechanism for hardware failures?"

If the former, well, fine, but if the latter, I'm not so sure I'd be too happy: I'd fear that it would need constant adjustment to cope with further hardware degradation.
