That was a common complaint with .1925. Many people have reported noticeable improvements with .2141 in terms of battery usage.

If you are using CB10 to read this and cannot read my vbulletin posting signature, evidence on this (as well as other changes in .2141) is being compiled here:

My brightness is 50 % as default

And I do use my phone a fair amount but not a high user.

I have done a battery pull a few times and a restart using the off button.

What about the volume key restart?

Also what method are you implying when you say power down/restart?

See the following post for a description of BB10 restart methods.

I do NOT recommend doing a battery pull at any time unless the power buttons/volume buttons are completely unresponsive. It can cause overt or latent problems.

Apologies if you thought I was blaming you personally. I just feel these terms are being used to casually justify an issue that is causing grief to many bb10 users.

I do see you point, they are meaningless terms.

As for your apology, no need

Hear me out. I had the leak .1925 before the official update came out. My battery life wasn't great on that leak but it wasn't terrible either. I've experienced better battery life on previous leaks so I was a little concerned.

Keep in mind, I'm one of those people who has over 5 gigs of data to restore after running The autoloader. Once the official update got pushed, I was hoping it would fix battery life... wrong! Somehow, the official update actually managed to make it worse. I was getting about 10 hrs avg on the leak OS but the official one had me charging my phone halfway through the day.
I came on CB only to find a lot of other users in the same predicament.

Fast forward a couple weeks to. 2141. I went through the usual installation process; wipe, run autoloader except this time I didn't restore my 5+ gigs of data. I completely did a clean, fresh install. Now don't get me wrong, it was a bit of a pain having to setup my phone from scratch but I'm now sitting at amazing battery life! I've had an absolutely flawless experience with this OS so far. I feel like restoring data from previous OS is a hit a miss for some on battery life.

Moral of the story, maybe a fresh install might be what some of you need to do. No backup of anything!

From now on I've decided all my data is going to live on an SD card

    Contacts back to sim

And it will be so much easier that way just run the auto loader and put in my sim and memory card!

Only thing is apps will need to be reinstalled of course

Two things that really improved my battery life were disabling BlackBerry Link when not using it and turning off NFC. I was getting bad battery life with 2141 - much worse than with the earlier leak. Then I realized that when I installed the new OS these two items were turned on by default where I had previously had them turned off. Once I turned them off battery life has improved.

for some reason, I'm getting abnormally high drain while on wifi.

I think it must be something syncing in the background while only on wifi.

If I recall correctly, the format for SIM contacts has a very simple structure and cannot store all the attributes that a BB10 device can store in a contact.

So you might want to do some tests trying to recover that data into another device and see what you get, before you rely on that.

Maybe modern SIMs have improved that somewhat.

Don't forget that polls on Crackberry are not likely to be representative of the userbase as a whole.

Not only are the demographics of Crackberry users not representative of all Blackberry users, people who choose to answer polls usually highly self-select because they have some sort of special interest in the subject of the poll.

    Will try the autoloader later.

I was having trouble with my phone pulling more power than normal in "idle" mode. It was typically around -0.6 watts (measured using Battery Guru), but with 2141 is was never below -0.10 watts and usually closer to -0.14. So about twice as much power draw when waiting for activity.

I delete two background apps (What's App, Battery and System Analyzer) and turned off Link, and now I'm back down to -0.6 watts.

Can't say which was the culprit, but I'm back to normal and all is good.
