    Not bad news if thru.

Are they just security or will they have new functionality and or drastic improvements? A 10.3.3 release to me should have something tangible within it.

An updated Android Runtime would be fantastic and appreciated.

They have long explicitly stated no new Runtime, and security/maintenance patches only.

    From Dev blog:

"we are confirming plans to release platform updates focused on security and privacy enhancements, with version 10.3.3 scheduled to be available in early 2016."

"BlackBerry 10 will continue to support the CURRENT release of the Android Runtime*"

As long as BlackBerry continue to release updates (big or small) I will continue to use BlackBerry 10 devices. If they show me they still "care" then I will continue to support them.

Once they stop updates, then a year or so later ill follow the "Priv Path" or what ever else they release

CURRENT release can mean at least a couple of things: Current when this press release was written or current when the 10.3.x updates come out, which could mean newer runtimes.

God I hope not. Not having Google is one of the biggest reasons I have a Blackberry. I I wanted Google, I would buy an Android phone.

Unfortunately from what I have read goggles android agreement does not allow this. So unless you think BlackBerry will break the agreement or produce an android only OS for its other phones it ain't gonna happen.

You must be a budding lawyer, that's tortured reasoning. Its pretty clear BB isn't going to devote resources to the runtime for an update to appear in 10.3.3 or 10.3.4. . By end of 2016 most of BB10 sales will be to enterprise and they don't care about the runtime.

Confirmed: There is a memo at BlackBerry with that says "BB10 Release Schedule 2016" and 10.3.3 followed by 10.3.4.

Whether the person who wrote the memo still works on that team is unconfirmed.

BlackBerry will only release patch and bug fixes for BlackBerry 10 until they've figured out how to make Android as secure as possible for enterprise. Then bye bye BlackBerry 10.

They laugh at me because I'm different; I laugh at them because they're all the same. 
