why is it so difficult to implement a dark hub? all the dark theme rules and color interactions must have been worked out long ago.

a complete oversight that a system-wide light theme/dark theme toggle wasn't implemented from the get-go. it would have been amazing to have a cascades light/dark api and light/dark theme requirements for third party devs (that referenced system settings).

that would have made bb10 extra special. but even cooler, give it an optional daytime/nighttime cycle. or bright conditions/dark conditions option that references a light meter. so many cool things could be done with a system-wide light/dark toggle.

The update provide a big security update and a new level certification (NIAP).
A question I have is: why should they (RIM and authorities) certify an OS if they already know it has no future? They certify a dead horse. I don't understand this certification at this moment. If RIM has had the will to achieve this certification they should have started this process three years ago. (OK, perhaps they did ...)

If they didn't support currently used devices what business of individual would even consider ever buying their products again. It's not like it is old like bbos 7.

I have just read the article on the Register - BlackBerry boss kills off BB 10 OS, mulls mid-range Androids, ? The Register where it was said

"He also pronounced formal last rites over the company's BlackBerry 10 operating system: it will continue to receive updates, but there won't be any new BB10-based devices"

So I assume only patches will come from BB now and that's it.

Sad to see the OS go like that - was always my fav with phones.

Until BlackBerry makes an official statement that they are stopping production on BB10 devices, don't believe what others are saying.

We still have 10.3.3 coming in June and 10.3.4 in Jan 2017.

Where was it reported 10.3.4 coming in Jan 17?

Hope this has a dark hub surely it can't be that hard to develop OS to give end users the dark option!

Because phone gets bored without being wiped and reconfigured

A far as I've read the next update is for security improvements, not for any new features, so I don't really understand the obsession over when it will be released.

Honestly I think leaks have made the BlackBerry community livelier and so helping BlackBerry with free advertisement.

It's simply so boring without leaks for so long.
