What's interesting is that when I check for OS updates it just spins and spins...been spinning for the last 10-minutes now. Maybe a good sign?

If it doesn't launch today, there will definitely be an announcement about it tomorrow. Hopefully it's just a 1 week delay.

Ah, no. QNX is the core OS, it is not the finalized BB10. They are separate components of the final solution.

Changing my clock to Midway time. That leaves Chen about 16 hours to release 10.3.3 and still say it was released in March.

I would agree that BlackBerry seems to have approached the development of BB10 as a licensee of Neutrino (creating Cascades instead of using Qt or or not getting the Android Runtime to appeal more to developers by making it easy for Android apps to conform to BB10 UX guidelines), but maybe they gave BB10 to their subsidiary to work on? Why not?

Well certainly looks like the dev team got chenned. Chen himself probably gets high on his own supply.

It does not fall into QNX's business model. QSS (QNX Software Systems) has always focused on OS Platform only, staying out of systems solution market. This keeps them out of competing against some of their own major clients. If QNX was to pickup BB10, that would put them in direct competition with companies like Apple. Apple is a QNX partner. BlackBerry would be wise to keep the QNX business model as is. It is one of things that has allowed QNX to grow and keeps it the most popular RTOS in the market while being part of BlackBerry.

Well, I guess now we can say that 10.3.3 is officially a no-show.

Wonder what the hold up is. It's been worked on pretty regularly as noted in the "spotted" thread. Build 441 has been certified for N.A. GSM carriers for a couple of weeks now.

Could still come out today, but I hope someone asks Chen about it during the conference call today.

Chen just said to expect 10.3.3 in June and 10.3.4 in late FY2017 or early FY2018.

He noted that 10.3.3 depends on testing that they don't control.

It's just one of the many ridiculous cases where RIM fails completely to communicate. I said it several times: a single employee could do a great job telling the people important things, especially timelines and dates. And if the user has questions it should really be a very good idea to do that continuously. But beginning with the CEO communication is the stepchild of this company. They think they can earn money without the customers.

Quite a disappointment. Was excited to get 10.3.3 in March. But I guess June it will have to be.
