Don't know, but there will always be a "next month".

    It's a "we're focused on Android" delay.
Don't worry, though. BlackBerry is committed to BB10.

Last news was NIAP was still holding back certification. But you seem to have inside information that Android focus is the cause of the delay and not NIAP?

Maybe it's more complicated than this but blackberry doesn't appear on the current NIAP Product Compliant List or the Products in Evaluation. Seems to me if 10.3.3 is coming any day now and it's chief purpose is to be NIAP certified it should be on one of these lists.

I don't think they'll cut off BB10 support for a long time. Playbook was something different than their handsets division. I mean: look at BBOS7 support.

I'm looking at it. It ended in July 2014. What's your point?

BBOS7 and Playbook OS were both supported for 3 years or less before being EOL'ed, and BB10 has recently past that length. So unfortunately I guess we shouldn't be surprised if BB10 gets EOL'ed at any moment.

In contrast, Apple supported the iPhone 4S for about 5 years before EOL'ing it. Android has arguably the shortest EOL time frame, the exception being Google's Nexus line having a 2-3 year EOL time frame.

My point is that BBOS7 was supported for almost 2 years after the BB10 official release was announced. So in that line, my theory is that BB10 would be supported for 2 years after the BlackBerry Android official release was announced.

We still have another OS update coming in the next few days and another next year. So BlackBerry 10 will be supported till at least the end of 2017.

Agreed. Too much scaremongering going on that BB10 will be ditched!

Sure, that's the one they promised for March. I mean June. I mean July. I mean August.

You know, they promised things for the Playbook, too.

At this point I will believe in 10.3.3 when I see 10.3.3.

Ditto for 10.3.4 which was promised for the end of 2016. I mean some time in 2017.

Eh, you probably didn't read BlackBerry's original statement regarding the updates right (which was included in the fiscal results of the time), else you would've known that they never promised 10.3.4 for 'just' the end of 2016. They said 10.3.4 was scheduled for late FY17 - early FY18. So in that regard the schedule hasn't changed much, except that it will definitely be early FY18.

Unfortunately 10.3.3 is a special release OS and is not up to BlackBerry when it gets released. They are trying to acquire a certification and only once that process is complete can they release it.

10.3.4 afaik, does not need any further certification which means it will be far easier to release in 2017. I can see you are a little annoyed, but have faith. BlackBerry won't drop BlackBerry 10 before Dec 2017. (At Least)
