Maybe a hard reboot? Just hold both vol up/down at the same time

Yes - I do have a Z30 (STA 100-2) running the same OS version as you and experience exactly what you do.

I have the same issue since 10.3.0 (I think) and only a few days ago I did contact a very, very skilled tech supporter I know at BB.
He has received a device debug log and development will look into it. Can't really say more, and all we can do is wait for the logs to be analysed, a fix implemented and a new 10.3.1 relased.

Sounds good, I have tried my old broken screen again as well and it doesn't work with it either so I'm blaming the os.
I'd like to hear from others though !

Also, a hard reboot unfortunately isn't enough to solve this one

Don't do security wipe after the autoloader...on early builds it seems to break some things...

Well I didn't have a choice because first time around I did a restore and that caused huge problems.

So, rerun the autoloader and start fresh...no restores, no sec wipe.

    Just received the reply today:
The sensor values from my device is in an abnormal range. The phone app uses a fixed range and BBVE approves changes in the sensor readings in other/larger ranges. This explains why the device passes all tests in BBVE but still doesn't work when performing a call.

They are looking into changing BBVE so it will let you know if the sensor readings are out of spec/range.

Interesting, they didn't give you any reason for that?

Have the same issue after replacing my screen, bbve shows everything is fine but in calls it doesn't shut off. Makes sense what you said about the phone app using a certain range and if the readings are out of the range it won't shut off the screen. Hope they fix it.

I've got the impression it is hw related.

I have a new middleframe ready and when I'm not busy I'll replace it and see if it fixes my issue.

For the time being I'm just pressing the power button before moving the device to my head. This "resolves" the issue.

I've experienced this issue in my Q5 after replacing the screen, but there is not solution, i'd to sell my Q5 and buy a new one.

Clearly I think that the problem is not using a original replacements...

You know, this seems to be like a blackberry thing. It's been a long time I've had this problem. Maybe a year and a half - I couldn't tell the build where I noticed it

I have checked scientifically, but this problem definitely flares up with incoming calls on the second line, and maybe when receiving messages too.

When the problem starts, and my cheek hasn't already hung up on my call, I hit the screen lock button manually and this shuts it down.

I don't have many gripes with BB10, but this issue and the auto focus are my top two things to improve somehow.

Only way to find out is to open a support ticket and provide a device log to T-Support.

I have the same problem with 10.3.1.396 on my Z10. I think they modified the proximity sensor code and it doesn't work very well anymore. It usually turns of the screen when I am in calls, but often it doesn't and I find out because I hear my face dialing numbers.

    Have you replaced your screen?
And have you tried testing it in bbve?

FYI: BBVE will only tell you if it can read the sensor, but not if the values are in an abnormal range.
