So I have managed to keep my dad's unlimited data on Verizon and been able able to get free tethering by installing an escreen from 10.1.0.32. But when I installed 10.3.1.821 and tried installing I got this gem. (Deprecated Application "Diagnostic Screens" This application uses a runtime that is no longer supported. You can cancel the launch, search BlackBerry World for an update, or delete the application.) I was wondering if anyone smarter than me knows how to get around it or am I just going to have to down grade to an older os

You can't use prior escreens bars, since they're Adobe AIR.

Well thanks I guess this is as far as I go with updates. My dad uses his BlackBerry as his only internet source and is using over 200gb of data each month so I guess I'll downgrade to the OS that still uses Adobe air and sit tight I guess.

So does anyone know what was the last version that still used adobe air?

Should be any software before 10.3.1. I'm pretty sure any 10.3.0 build should still have it and any 10.2.2 and lower all for sure have it.

Is there anyway to convert the Adobe AIR escreen to whatever they are currently using?

The next logical question is where is the engineering screen in BB 10.3.1?

I think best bet is to see about converting that old escreen bar to Cascades. There are those in this community more than capable of doing this, but I can not imagine anyone here volunteering their time for this. Maybe a crowd sourced job for an up and coming programmer.

I'd be willing to pay anyone willing to do take their time and do it if it would work.

It's impossible, sorry. There's no way unless you hold the source code. The only way to convert AIR app to Cascades is to rewrite everything (require source code) and BlackBerry keys so we can replace their escreen

It's cool I figured as much. I'll just have him stay where he's at. Everything is working really good and I guess I'll just keep a lookout for any newer builds of 10.3.0.xxxx that come out. Thank you all for your time. I really do appreciate this community. You're all great people.

It's the only internet he uses right now so he streams Netflix from his Wii or tablet. Plus he uses it anywhere he goes as a hotspot. Sometimes he uses it to give internet to tablets on road trips and use them as a GPS or to watch movies for the grandkids on trips. Pretty much anything he wants at 4g speeds to any number of things.

I'm speaking under correction here. Saw a thread comment recently, last two days, where someone has latest leak with old browser for this reason.

So if I load the old browser as a bar or something I might still be able to do this trick with the new os?

You may trick it but the app won't work because the lacks of AIR libs.

Well my dad also has a z10 that he upgraded from now he has the z30 so I might try it out on the z10 first so I don't have to go through the trouble of switching back if it doesn't work.
